Job Summary
Reporting to the LSM, to lead the provision of legal and associated services to Freebridge Community Housing (“the Association”). To support the LSM in respect of the delivery of conveyancing, legal advice and support on the Association’s Assets and Development and other activities.
MAIN DUTIES
- Manage the legal team workload, in close liaison with the LSM to ensure it is delivered to meet timescales
- Develop and support the Legal Team and take responsibility for the continual measuring and management of individuals performance including carrying out appraisal interviews, setting targets and ensuring these are achieved
- Provide legal advice and support to the Association on all of its activities
- Deal with property disposals and purchases, leases and other property related matters for the Association
- Deal with property law and conveyancing matters arising from the Associations development programme
- Undertake litigation and attend Court as advocate as necessary
- Carry out legal research as necessary
- Draft contracts and other legal documents as necessary
- Support the LSM with other legal management tasks

PERSON SPECIFICATION
KNOWLEDGEEXPERIENCE
Qualified Legal Executive or equivalent
Proven experience of conveyancing practice (essential)
Knowledge or experience of social housing (desirable)
Experience of litigation or contract drafting (desirable)
Management Experience (desirable)
SKILLS
Ability to prepare conveyancing documents (essential)
Ability to prepare and complete contracts (desirable)
Thorough, accurate and attention to detail
Interpersonal skills, listening & communication
Good written and verbal communication
Ability to summarise, précis and capture pertinent information.
