PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Two (02) Years Experience in Geotechnical Field as Engineering Geologist

Presently Working with well reputed Dubai Municipality Accredited Laboratory (GEOSCIENCE TESTING LABORATORY), as a Engineering Geologist/ in charge of Site Operation for both offshore and onshore drilling works, handling Geotechnical soil Investigation Projects, In charge for Cone Penetration Test (CPT) Site works & reporting.

Geotechnical Experience & Main duties at Geoscience Testing Laboratory(2014-2015):

  • Description of Soil and Rocks & preparation of Borehole Logs.
  • Calculation of Bearing Capacity based on shear and settlement criteria’s, Settlements etc.
  • Writing Geotechnical Reports as per BS – 5930, IS: 1892-1979), with recommendations on the type of foundations from villas to multi-storeyed building.
  • Prepare Application and follow up for obtaining NOC’s from concern authorities in DM and coordination with client in order to commence site works and assignment of works orders to drillers and Clarify client’s doubt regarding the test results and testing procedures adopted
  • Preparation of interpretative/factual geotechnical reports for construction or improvements to foundations, from villas to tower.
  • Recommending various ground improvements techniques i.e. Dewatering, Cobble treatment, Backfilling, Vibrofloatation, Stone columns, Geosynthetics etc.
  • Inspect the performance and quality control of the method of arrangement for the received samples from the drillers and coordinate with the site supervisor to achieve the best quality and performance.
  • Checking laboratory testing programs for the soil and rock samples in coordinates with the projects engineers and referring to the project specification and requirements.
  • Following up the taking photographs on daily basis in coordinates with the projects engineers.
  • Discussion with client regarding structural design and requirements of recommendation in order to prepare final soil investigation report.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in the department and ensure all staff adapt to the necessary safety measures while at work

Other Laboratory and Field Work Experience

  • Familiar with lab test like Atterberg limits, specific gravity, direct shear test, consolidation, hydrometer, moisture content, CBR, UCS, point load.
  • Familiar with field test include cone penetration test, pressure meter, packer, permeability test, percolation test and resistivity test.
