After successfully running the club since its inception Allen Kingston has decided to hand on the reins to someone else. If you feel you could be that person we would love to hear from you. Contact Esther Rudge (840230)

PARISH COUNCIL UPDATE

Ballingham Common: We have removed trees which were overhanging the telephone wires on the bottom edge of the Common, and have also worked with Herefordshire Council to trim back the oaks on the corner of Ballingham Hill. Please let us know if you identify any other work which needs to be carried out.

Village Pond: We still intend to carry out maintenance on the Village Pond, but work on this has been delayed owing to circumstances beyond our control.

Signpost: We continue to press Herefordshire Council for a replacement signpost on the South side of the village.

Visit of Virginia Taylor: Following the visit of Paul Keetch MP last year, the prospective Conservative candidate for Hereford, Mrs Virginia Taylor, will be attending the Parish Council meeting on Tuesday 4th May, at 7:30 pmwhich will be held in Hoarwithy Church Reading Room. After concluding our normal business, we shall invite Mrs Taylor to outline her views on matters of local interest, and to take questions. Any member of the Parish who wishes to come to the meeting will be very welcome.

Parish Transport Scheme: Our third payment from the Countryside Agency was received on 9th February, and the Parish Transport Scheme was re-instated immediately. Vouchers for £10 towards the cost of a journey to or from Ballingham with Hightown taxis are available from the Parish Councillors. Free transport by minibus to and from Hereford is available every Wednesday. To book a place, phone Dial-a-Ride (341302).

Annual Parish Meeting: The Annual Parish Meeting will take place on 18 May at 7:30pm in the Village Hall. Items for the Agenda should be submitted to any of the Parish Councillors at least one week in advance.
