Community Meditation & Satsang

Every Tuesday in July 2017, 7pm - 8:30pm with Higher Self Staff

Traverse City Community Meditation & Satsang. Join your local community members for a free meditation class. Suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators, this class is open to people of all backgrounds and traditions. Class will start with a brief introduction to meditation, what it is, and how to meditate. After meditation, there will be time for spiritual Q&A (also known as "satsung" which means spiritual discourse or sacred gathering). Just drop in… Feel free to bring friends! All are welcome! Carrier Oils – The Secret Essential Oil

You know how amazing essential oils are, so now take your knowledge to the next level! Do you know what to put essential oils in so that they are safe and even more effective to use? Join Mike as he goes over the “other part” of using EO’s, the Carrier Oils. Besides creating a base for the essential oils so that they are gentle on your skin, carrier oils have unique and wonderful properties and benefits of their own. Mike will explain this (and more) giving you a well-rounded perspective on this aspect of using essential oils. Plus you’ll take home a complimentary bottle of a carrier oil. Cost: $20

Medicine Wheel Garden – Creating Sacred Space

Join us on this journey of exploration into using the Medicine wheel to rediscovering the sacred in everyday life as we cultivate our gardens and inspire our souls. You will discover powerful meaning of the medicine wheel and the elemental world, how to make a garden medicine wheel, which plants to incorporate in which directions, importance of sun and lunar cycles, medicine herbs/plants and prayerful finishing touches. Reiki Share

We hold a Reiki Share at Higher Self the second Monday of every month. Our Reiki Share is open to everyone…those who are curious and want to experience Reiki… those that have experienced the joy and healing of Reiki…and those who are practitioners of Reiki at any level. Reiki Shares are offered at no cost, although donations are accepted in any way you feel guided – all donations are given to local community charities. Cost: Free —Benefit: Priceless. Tibetan Bowl Concert

This concert is a meditative journey into deep inner space. Sound healing creates vibrations that balance prana and life force energy. These vibrations effect the body and mind, creating profound peace that will leave you feeling wonderful. These concerts are intended to deepen yoga and meditative practices and provide stress reduction. Journey Circle

Journey Circle – Connect to All That Is the fourth Monday of each month. Journeying is an ancient technique to connect with spirit for healing and direct revelation. Journeying allows you to connect to the past, present, and future for personal and community healing as well as for healing the earth. Individual Healing Session with Jorge Hachumak ~ Peruvian Healer

Tuesday, July 25 through Thursday, July 27; Open to Close each day

The private healing sessions include the laying on of hands to specific parts of the body. The client is asked to close their eyes and focus within, but no specific thoughts need to be held or no conscious effort is needed from the client. Hachumak makes a dialogue with the deep part of the person's consciousness, and bringing the healing forces with whom he keeps a connection, the force of life directs itself to what is needed by the client. This can have a clearing effect of past pains and darkness and reconnects the client's inner self with the healing force of life. Native American Hand Drum Making

Learn to Make a Native American style hand drum with drum maker Mike Currier. Mike will walk you through and show you how to construct a hand drum in the Native American Style. Mike will share with you traditional and modern uses of drums as well as share the Teachings he has received about the drum. This is a class you don’t want to miss. Make sure when you sign up you specify which size drum and hide you would like. Bring a stick to make your drum stick too as mike will also help you make a drum stick for your drum. Register by 8/16/17 to ensure you get the size and hide you would like.
