Minutes from October Meeting: Frank Muller moved to accept minutes as writtenDaniel Berke seconded.

Treasurer’s report/ Budget review – Frank Muller, Frank met with SacValley Farm Credit on 10/31/07 to discuss them underwriting the 4-H 2008 Auction. A committee will be formed and they w/ meet 2-3 times before S.S. to finalize who is responsible for what.

OUT REACH/COMMUNITY SERVICE REPORTS

  • Community Clubs -via written reports- Clever Clovers 10/31-11/3/07-participated in the FernsPark Rebuild. 11/07- Thanksgiving food Baskets
  • The Wave- John Roncoroni will follow up on this

Awards/Fundraising/Scholarship– Shelly Timko, Heather Vermazen

Spring Show, Knowledge Merit, Achievement Night, Fashion Review, Presentation Day, Scholarships

-Jan Johansen has a list going around to sign up to help with knowledge Merit Day.

-The Awards comm. met and there was a good turn out with lots of good ideas. They picked out the ’08 S.S. awards. A sponsor letter will soon be sent out to the committee for awards sponsorship (letter to be approved by the 4-H office first). We are also looking for a business to sponsor the ribbons cost could be from $1000-$2000. –Shelley Timko

  • Asilomar Nov. 16-18th- It was reported that this State Leaders Forum meeting was Fabulous. At this meeting Kim Scott, Katie Wilmot, and Carrie Taylor were recognized as “Volunteers of theYear”. This trio deserves a hearty Congratulation. Thanks for all you do.
  • San Diego Fire Relief Fund-Call the 4-H office for more info.

NEW BUSINESS

  • New Leader Training – in January date TBA
  • Cluster Meeting- John Roncoroni 10/27 & 28/07 Cluster = 4 counties (Yolo,Solano, Sacramento & San Joaquin) This is a pilot program to incorporate 4 counties to work towards a common goal such as training events, presentations, or a festival (field day). Upcoming project is the field day they are asking key leaders in 4 counties to put together projects for the field day. The hope is to add uniformity to the clubs in each county.
  • Record Book Cluster- there will be workshop, e-mail Delynda if you are interested. Room for 15 people

LEADERSHIP/EVENT REPORTS

  • All Star Game Night- Daniel Berke- the evening was enjoyable but not well attended.
  • National Event reports-*- National Poultry & Egg conference in Kentucky –Representing Yolo County our Avian bowl team of Chelsea Pugh, Rachel Hazeltine & Abigail Berke placed 1st out of 16 teams and are undefeated. The Poultry judging team of Sarah Hazeltine, Chelsea Pugh, Rachel, Will Simmonstook 4th Placeout of 19 teams. Sarah Hazeltine was 1st high individual in the poultry judging contest. Great job all of you!! *National Sheep show in Kentucky- Kayla Marks placed 4th with her Dorset Ewe in the Jr. Show and took 8th place in the Jr. Showmanship and 4th in the open showmanship class. Way to go Kayla!
  • North Sectional Meeting –February 16, 2008to be held inSonoma,thelast meeting was held here and Omelets were served, this went over well.
  • Daniel Berke is trying to put together a Horticulture ID to be used at county or sectional presentation day
  • Remember we have Great ALL STARS to help us out please invite them to your club meetings.

-Cal Conference has 7 youth signed up but we are still in need of adult chaperones.

-State record book meeting to be held this weekend.
