DIGITAL PORTFOLIO CHECKLIST

All Foshay students must graduate with a professional digital portfolio. They must be professional and easy to read.

There are many free websites out there.

Step 1: Find an example you like so you have an idea of how yours will look at feel

Step 2: Create an account with the site you like best (once you have a working portfolio it is easy to recreate it – the point now is to get started and get organized.

Step 3: Create the 6 main pages for your site

  2. Resume (Awards section of resume recommended, or subpage with awards if applicable)
  3. Work Samples
  4. Community Service
  5. Letters of Recommendation
  6. Senior Portfolio
  7. Goals
  8. Personal Statement
  9. Drive of your life/My Road

Step 4:Edmodo/email your portfolio link to your teacher

Step 5: Start adding information and filling in your work

WORK SAMPLES /
  • You must have at least 2-3 projects there at all times. Can be classwork, or items you have designed and created on your own. ANYTHING that showcases you in the best possible light
  • Each sample should include image and/or link, Title, 1-2 sentence description, at least one connection to one of the Schoolwide Learning Goals (Personally and Socially Responsible, Technologically Literate, Problem Solver, and/or Effective Communicator.

Example:
Service Learning Project:
Title: Environmental PSA about Pollution (link or embedded project)
Description: I worked in a team to use my Flash CS5 skills to create a Public Service Announcement about the Air Pollution Crisis.
Reflection: This project showcased by Technological Literacy by using my software skills to design and code a Flash project, and embed it into my website. I also was socially responsible by sharing this effects and damages of air pollution to the students at my school and it was shared with the parents and teachers in our community.
Community Service:
TITLE: AIDS WALK LOS ANGELES (link to AIDS WALK website) -
DESCRIPTION: Completed 12 hours of community service while walking and raising money and awareness to combat the AIDS crisis.
CONNECTION: Participating in this activity used my skills as an effective communicator in order to raise awareness and my social responsibility to help raise awareness
Letters of Recommendation / 2 Letters of Recommendation – one must be from a teacher
SENIOR PORTFOLIO /
