TROMBLY PTO MEETING MINUTES – PENDING APPROVAL

March 18, 2015.

The meeting was called to order at 7:05p.m.

Attendance: Walter Fitzpatrick, Michele Lindsay, Stacey Chen, ReneeJakubowski, JenelleLefief, Beth Newhart, Diane Hutchingson,Kristina Suson, Anna Bouton, Mary Jo Wyse, Beverly Bennert and Cynthia Reich.

The minutes from the February 2015 meeting were approved. Motion by JenelleLefief, second by Beth Newhart.

President’s Report – Michele Lindsay

  • Thank you –Bev Bennert for a fabulously successful Family Fun Night.
  • Nominating Committee for 2015-2016 Vacant PTO positions – Kristina Suson, Diane Hutchingson, Jennifer Hutchison, Wendy Bruetsch and Jo Marie Schmidt. Nominations will be accepted for the following 30 days for the positions of Recording Secretary and Treasurer. Nominations will be reviewed by the committee and announced at the April meeting. Voting will be during the May meeting.
  • Fundraising Committee meeting – next year there will be a new format for Original works in the form of a Family Art Night. Further information to come. Scrip sales and treat sales will be discontinued. Also, next year there will be a fundraiser going towards our greenhouse renovation.

Treasurer’s Report – Jennifer Hutchison

  • Michele Lindsay presented in Jennifer’s stead.

Vice President’s Report – Renee Jakubowski

  • Upcoming parent night March 27th - Fowling in Hamtramk, 7:30pm start time, $15 per ticket, cash bar.

Corresponding Secretary –Anna Bouton

  • Nothing to report.

Principal’s Report – Walter Fitzpatrick

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences March 25th in the evening and March 26th all day.Tuesday, March 10th is am only, report cards home on Friday, March 20th.
  • Thank you to all who participated in ValenTwin and all those involved in Family Fun Night. Thank you Janine Eckert for a fabulous Talent Show.
  • On Monday we will have an assembly called “Ok to Say” on cyber safety.
  • Staff is working on the “Summer Slide” program. More info to come.
  • Parents will now be getting a phone call if their child is marked tardy.
  • State testing has a classroom activity and performance test portion. Students must do classroom activity before they can take the test. Dates will be sent home.
  • Trombly is to receive $15,000 as part of a grant through South to create a Maker Space including a 3D printer, 25 Google Chrome Books, Lego robotics kit and an Apple desktop computer.

School Board Representative Report – Lee Johnson

  • Dr. Harwood is leaving the district April 10th.

Committee Reports

  • Book Fair – Christina Buchanan & Christine Mueller – Contact Christina or Christine if you would like to volunteer.
  • Family Fun Night – Beverly Bennert –Night was a fun success. Going forward we may change the time and add more setup and cleanup crew.
