Job Title:Production Planner
reports to:Operations Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the coordination of products in the assigned part class groups in order to meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains accurate records in the Vantage database.
- Reviews raw material requirements and coordinates deliveries with purchasing and production to meet delivery requirements while maintaining inventory goals.
- Reviews reports, releases jobs, and prints routings and sketches per the applicable work instructions with high levels of accuracy.
- Reviews routings and sketches for errors before releasing jobs to the shop floor.
- Reports status of detail, subassembly, and final assembly jobs in production meetings and daily communication with other team members to meet on time delivery goals.
- Controls cost and labor utilization through a review of lot sizes and scheduling concepts.
- Reviews and implements Engineering Change Notices (ECN) on parts that are assigned.
- Assists supervisors in setting the production schedule.
- Performs routing splits, adds rework operations, and performs other clerical activities to support production and quality.
- Prepares milestone schedules and production reports to keep key product on track as required.
- Reviews job routings at the closing process to correct any discrepancies in the yield and follows up on the proper documentation of parts that have quality rejects.
- Reviews, monitors, and drives to minimize setups in returning small lot quantity or rework parts into larger production runs.
- Tracks and properly reconciles product that becomes dormant to maintain inventory accuracy in the database.
- Tracks parts at outside processes and coordinates shipments to facilitate on time delivery.
- When required, serves as contact for any NADCAP, CASE, FAA, customer, internal or any other audit.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity to Ace Precision Quality System Work Instruction requirements that govern production planning operations.
- Maintains or exceeds production standards through organization and planning.
- Follows and complies with safety rules, regulations, and work instructions.
- Accurately completes all required documentation.
- Meets attendance policy requirements.
- Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree or equivalent with courses preferably in Business Management, Production Management, or related coursework; 2+ years of related production planning experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of general office systems and computer literacy in Microsoft Windows and Office Applications is essential.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as invoices, procedure manuals, etc. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization and maintain positive employee/employer relations. Ability to respond to technical inquiries, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Excellent writing and communication skills with a strong knowledge of Excel and MS Word. All communication must be handled with professional expertise, complete and thorough detail, documentation and follow-through.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts of algebra, geometry, and advanced shop mathematics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Requires considerable initiative and decision-making judgment. Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface with all levels of employees. Detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and assess priorities to meet deadlines, recognize workflow, and carefully plan short and long term projects.

This is a salaried, exempt position.
