Assignment

Prepare a speech to be presented to your classmates on the theme “Any Old Bag Will Do.” This is a practice speech and will not be graded. The only way you can lose points is if you don’t do the assignment. The purposes of the speech are to introduce yourself to the class, and to learn more about your classmates, and to practice your public speaking.

Present your speech this Wednesday, August 25, 2004

Guidelines

Fill “any old bag” with three items. The bag and each item should symbolize something about your life. The first item should describe something about your past. The second item should relate to something about your present. And the third item should explain something about your future. The bag should also represent you in some way. You will display your items one at a time and explaining how each item and the bag exemplify your life.

Deliver the speech without notes or use of a lectern.

So that every student has a chance to speak, please limit your speech to no more than two minutes.
