Job Description
Service User Involvement Worker
Salary: £22,958 pro rata
Hours: 18½ hours a week, this may include some evening and occasional weekend work.
Responsible to: A4MHD Management Committee through supervision with the Manager.
Responsible for: Supporting and developing processes for service-users to be genuinely and meaningfully involved in the development of personality disorder services in Leeds.
Decision Making: To plan and organise own work subject to priorities set by the management.
Financial Responsibilities: To observe financial policies and procedures of A4MHD.
Range of Duties:
1. To work with service-users to develop suitable processes and structures to enable service-users to be involved as partners in personality disorder services in Leeds, with particular focus on the Personality Disorder Clinical Network
2. To work alongside Service-User Consultants and Service-User Development Workers who may be working in the field
3. To ensure service-users are given opportunities to express and feed back their views, comments and experiences to relevant service providers
4. To ensure service user feedback in evaluations of the overall personality disorder service.
5. To provide training sessions/presentations on your work at A4MHD when required
6. To maintain satisfactory records and administrative systems and contribute to the efficient running of A4MHD. To take an active part in reviews of recording systems
7. To produce a written report of ongoing work for Management Committee meetings as required. To produce an annual report and monitoring figures for publication
8. To plan, review and monitor own work in liaison with the Manager. To attend regular supervision sessions with the Manager
9. To work cooperatively with other members of A4MHD staff including attending team and planning meetings and providing mutual support.
10. To work cooperatively with members of the multidisciplinary and multi agency personality disorder clinical network
11. To work within A4MHD policies and procedures at all times.
12. To positively promote A4MHD among service users, service providers and community organisations.
13. To build community links and familiarise yourself with community resources in order to maximise the benefit of the involvement process.
14. To keep informed of concerns about the rights of people with mental health problems at local and national levels and in particular people diagnosed with personality disorders. To stay abreast of developments and changes in mental health law and service delivery.
15. To undertake any relevant training agreed by the Manager and identify your own training needs in supervision sessions.
16. To undertake other duties within the remit of this post as agreed by the Management Committee.
Note:
There will be an initial six months probationary period with one review. Continued employment will depend on the outcome of the reviews.
This post is not an essential car user post though a mileage allowance is available.
