The 2018 Regional 14-15 Years RUGBY UNION Trials are to be held on Tuesday 1 May 2018.

Schools are to conduct trials to nominate suitable individuals to attend these trials.

NOMINATION WILL BE SCHOOL TEAM OF 19 PLAYERS (max.) - All schools will have one team. Schools may make application in writing for additional players to attend the trials especially in specialist positions of prop, hooker and halfback.

PLAYERS ATTENDING MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, FOR ITS FULL DURATION, BEING HELD IN PADUA COLLEGE OVALS BRISBANE FROM 26 – 29 JULY 2018.

Nomination Fee:$5.00 per student. No money is to be paid at the trial.

The DD Sports Office will invoice the Schoolsafter the regional trial for the regional trial levy plus GST.

SchoolConvenors are to ensure that students nominated for the trial are aware that

theirschool will be invoiced for this fee.

Students must pay their school office.

MEDICAL/PERMISSION FORMS

All players must bring a completed DD Trial Permission Form to the regional trial. NO FORM means the student will be unable to trial on the day.

SHADE:All students should employ sun safety procedures, as little shade will be available.

It is a SCHOOL’S RESPONSIBILITY to ensure teachers accompany teams to Regional Trials and provide TRS days to cover teacher's absence from school for these days.

Teams attending without a team official WILL BE INELIGIBLE to compete at the Regional Trials.

OFFICIAL MEETING:A meeting of team officials will be held at 9.15am on Tuesday 1 May at the

Downlands College Playing Fields for the 14-15 years Team Officials.

10.45 – 12.00Units – Looking at specific skills related to their set position (in a

controlled environment)

1.00 – 2.00Game Play – Looking at how players get around in a game (authentic

environment)

One (1) teacher from each participating district will be nominated as a member of the selection panel.
