2011 NEWSLETTER

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear WLSA Members,

Another year has passed and a new summer season is upon us. Once again I would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and voices of approval. I cannot begin to tell you the number of letters, emails, and personal comments of encouragement we have received in recent months. We have had many accomplishments this past season, but none better than the relationships that continue to grow within our community of White Lake. We have successfully stood as one together with our sister lake organizations, The Adirondack White Lake Association and the White Lake Ski Club, to make clear to all that we are an active participant in the community and that we are a united force. Through hard work and compromise and for the betterment of our community we have mended broken fences with the Woodgate Fire Department that had lasted for many years. We now work jointly to improve the safety of the community and our beaches. A big “THANKS” to Bill Rockhill (President) and Tony Sege (Fire Chief) for their dedication and support of working together to improve our community.

I would like to thank our hardworking Board of Directors and Officers for their support and endless hours of dedication they have donated to our being. You may not have known this, but our Board of Directors schedules monthly meetings and those that are not available to attend in person are present by conference call. A WLSA Board Member attends the Town of Forestport’s monthly meetings to keep us informed of all community activity. Their dedication as community leaders dictates a full time volunteer commitment. I am honored and proud to serve with such a group.

We continue to work on our beach front properties with safety being our most important priority. We are currently working on a joint venture with the Woodgate Fire Department to renovate our A-Beach property resulting in a more efficient manner for the Fire Department to access the property and draw water from the lake should we have a community emergency. At the same time our newly renovated Boat Launch will allow our boating membership to access and launch their watercraft in a more efficient and safe manner. New sand, swim rafts, kayak racks, and the addition of evergreens will only enhance the appearance of our property.

With new property tax assessments this season, we expect additional expenses to occur. The Board of Directors and I will continue our efforts to minimize this cost. However, we need your continued support financially by paying your dues and supporting our fundraising events.

I pledge to you our valued membership, as the President of the White Lake Shores Association, Inc. that I will continue to govern this organization in a business manner that you can be proud of. In return I respectfully ask for your continued support and generosity.

Sincerely,

Frank J. Fellone Jr.

President
