POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: / ABE/GED LANGUAGE ARTS ADJUNCT FACULTY P/T - DEKALB COUNTY
MONDAY – THURSDAY DAY/EVENING
PRIMARY LOCATION: / Community Education Center, Doraville, GA
DESCRIPTION: / Instructs and supervises students in a variety of areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: / • Develops language arts program and course outlines
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: / A degree from an accredited college or university *and* completed course comparable with the curriculum taught *OR* experience/expertise in the area of curriculum taught. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.

PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS: / Bachelor’s degree in Elementary or Secondary Education with English/writing focus and successful completion of a teaching practicum approved by the degree-granting institution; OR a Bachelor’s degree or higher in language arts, and two years of professional classroom or formalized training, instruction, or teaching experience; OR Adult Education experience teaching language arts.
salary/benefits: / Salary will be based upon education, experience and other qualifications. Adjunct Faculty are temporary positions, scheduled based on class needs of the college. Adjunct Faculty will generally sign assignment acknowledgements which cover a single term at a time, and employment is not guaranteed. Adjunct faculty members do not received benefits and are scheduled as needed. Adjunct Faculty Work on a per-term basis, therefore future courses are not assured. Georgia Defined Contributions, Social Security and taxes will be deducted.
