For Student & Parents

The goal of St. John’s First Communion ministry is to help the children to come to know Jesus Christ by:

  1. Teaching them about a celebration of Baptism, a celebration of God’s Word and a celebration of sharing.
  2. Teaching them about the joys of Eucharist.
  3. Instruction in the basics of Bible and Christian teachings.
  4. To be received into Communicant membership by the congregation.

Minimum Requirements to be met in order to be eligible for the Rite of First Holy Communion:

  1. Must be a Baptised Christian.
  2. Must at least be in the 2nd grade.
  3. Attend class sessions and scheduled learning events.
  4. Attendance at Sunday worship services during the course of Communion classes.
  5. Satisfactory reciting, from memory,of the Lord’s Prayer.
  6. Cooperative attitude toward class work, homework, memory work and others in the class.
  7. Satisfactory completion of assigned work.
