For Student & Parents
The goal of St. John’s First Communion ministry is to help the children to come to know Jesus Christ by:
- Teaching them about a celebration of Baptism, a celebration of God’s Word and a celebration of sharing.
- Teaching them about the joys of Eucharist.
- Instruction in the basics of Bible and Christian teachings.
- To be received into Communicant membership by the congregation.
Minimum Requirements to be met in order to be eligible for the Rite of First Holy Communion:
- Must be a Baptised Christian.
- Must at least be in the 2nd grade.
- Attend class sessions and scheduled learning events.
- Attendance at Sunday worship services during the course of Communion classes.
- Satisfactory reciting, from memory,of the Lord’s Prayer.
- Cooperative attitude toward class work, homework, memory work and others in the class.
- Satisfactory completion of assigned work.
