What are my next steps once I log into FG 9?

Click on the My Classes icon at top left. You should see all your classes and student rosters. You will be able to add/edit/delete class names AND students. After checking students and inputting them into classes, your next step is to create the Fitnessgram test event and enter scores.

How do I create a Fitnessgram test event (e.g., select my test items)?

In the FG 9 program, click on the FG icon on the left side of the screen. Make sure you have selected the right class at the top of the screen. Click the Create button (will be in green). A form for your selections will appear.

Follow these THREE steps on the form:

Step 1: Use the appropriate name of the test.

Enter a date for the test event along with the indication of a pre/mid/post or intermittent test.

Step 2: Select your test items.

Step 3: Make your selections here regarding printing body comp information or printing the student/parent reports in Spanish instead of English for this class.

Click the Save button when completed.

I have my test events created for my classes, how do I enter scores?

Once you have created the test event, click on the FG icon again. Select the checkbox of the test event you just created. Click on the green Scores button to enter student results. The scores grid will be displayed onscreen.

Using your TAB or ARROW keys on your keyboard, you can enter scores across the grid for a student or down to enter scores for a specific test item. Because Internet connectivity can always be an issue, remember, to use the SAVE button and save often.

What is the Exemption Code column on the far right of the scores grid?

In rare cases when a student is not able to complete part or all of the fitness assessment or modifications are needed to complete one or more items on the assessment no score should be entered for the test item or items.

The following exemption codes are available (located at end of grid for each student). Select one of these codes if applicable for that student.

10 -- Absent on all test dates and all make-up sessions

12 -- Medical Excuse

14 – Other

NOTE: You will only see the numbers for the exemption codes on the scores grid, not the labels.

Is there an App I can use to enter Fitnessgram scores?

Yes, there is a FG 9 app available for the ipad/iphone and Android. The cost is $4.99 and is not paid for by the department. The FG 9 app is ONLY for entering scores and is not the FG 9 web-based program. It does, however, work with the FG 9 program. You must first create all your FG test events in the FG program before you can use the app to enter scores.
