A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate upon the occasion of the one-hundredth anniversary of the Green River Bank.

WHEREAS, the Green River Deposit Bank was founded on February 11, 1898, in Rochester, Butler County, Kentucky, with the Honorable J. Frank Hays presiding as president; and

WHEREAS, in 1971, the bank changed its title to the Green River Bank; and in 1972, its headquarters was moved to Morgantown, the county seat of Butler County, Kentucky; and

WHEREAS, the Green River Bank is a well-established, strong institution that has been serving the good citizens of Butler County for one hundred years; and

WHEREAS, on February 11, 1998, a ribbon-cutting and symbolic ceremony will be held to commemorate the jubilant occasion of the one-hundredth anniversary of the Green River Bank, with the Honorable Thomas G. Jones presiding as president of the bank;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. This honorable body is indeed proud to commemorate the one-hundredth anniversary of the Green River Bank and to recognize the Green River Bank for the excellent service that it has provided the good citizens of Butler County for a century. The Senate does hereby wish to the Green River Bank continued success in all future endeavors.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of the occasion of the one-hundredth anniversary of the Green River Bank.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Thomas G. Jones, President, Green River Bank, 112 West G.L. Smith Street, Morgantown, Kentucky 42261.
