SPARTAN’S ROCKET TOSUCCESSPROGRAM
Aviation Maintenance students who complete their FAA Certification exams immediately upon graduation score higher on their exams and enter the Aviation Maintenance industry at a higher rate of pay with probability for promotion. The FAA testing process consists of 3 written tests and 3 oral and practical exams administered by an FAA Designated Mechanic Examiner (DME).
- Written tests – a series of multiple choice questions covering the subject areas of the AMT program
- Oral & Practical exams – a series of questions delivered verbally by the DME followed by practical demonstrations of knowledge and skill via projects selected by the examiner.
The Rocket to Success Program will prepare graduates to pass all areas of the FAA exams and help decrease the out of pocket cost (see discount details below). The discounts will only be extended to those completing the Rocket to Success Program within 45 days of graduation from the AMT program.
The Rocket to Success Program is a three-week class that begins on the first day of each new term (every 6 weeks). The instructor will follow a curriculum designed to prepare testers for each exam, also reviewing practice exams, answering questions, and help guide individual study. Students are encouraged to complete both practice and final written exams while participating in the Program and to complete Oral and Practical upon completion of the Rocket Program
Practice Written Exams:
Practice written exams can be taken in the Library, Career Center, or in the Rocket Program classroom. A score of 85% or higher on all 3 practice exams will result in a $50.00 discount voucher for each of the final written exams.
- Total cost with discount vouchers - $150 ($495 without vouchers)
Final Written Exams:
Final written exam pre-scheduling process begins in the Cashier’s Office with final written exams being administered in the Testing Center on the Flight Campus. Once pre-scheduling has occurred, the Test Proctor will contact you with available testing dates and times.

Oral and Practical Exams
O&P exams should be scheduled immediately following the successful completion of the final written exams. The average of the 3 final written exam scores will determine the O&P discount rate (see chart below).
