PRODUCT: Body Harness

MAKE & MODEL: SUBARU BP OUTBACK

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE ENSURE THAT INSTRUCTIONS ARE UNDERSTOOD PRIOR TO FITMENT

  1. In the engine bay, locate the vehicle battery (1).
  2. Route the power input harness (2) from the battery towards the LHS of the engine bay.
Note: Do not connect the power input harness to the battery at this point. /
  1. Route the power input harness (1) into the vehicle cabin through the LHS engine bay grommet (2).

For P/No: 04997 & 04999 only.
  1. Following the diagram on the right, house the two power & ground input harness female terminals (4) into the mating connector (3).
  2. Connect the power input harness connector (3) to the body harness mating connector.
  3. Seal the two connectors with electrical tape.

For P/No: 04998.
  1. Following the diagram on the right, house the three power & ground input harness female terminals (4) into the mating connector (5).
  2. Connect the power input harness connector (5) to the body harness mating connector.
  3. Seal the two connectors with electrical tape.

  1. In the vehicle cabin, remove the LHS front scuff plate (1).

  1. Remove the LHS rear scuff plate (1).
/
  1. In the luggage compartment, remove the LHS luggage compartment trim fasteners (1) and then remove the LHS luggage compartment trim (2).

For P/No: 04998 & 04999 only
  1. Route the Body Harness (1) behind the dash and towards the RHS of the vehicle.
  2. Locate the four electric brake controller wires (2).
  3. Locate the electric brake controller (3).
  4. Mount the electric brake controller mounting bracket.

For P/No: 04998 & 04999 only
  1. Following the diagram on the right, house the body harness terminals (1) to the corresponding slot on the connector (2).
  2. Insert the secondary lock (3) into the connector (2).
  3. Connect the body harness connector to the electric brake controller.

  1. Route the body harness (1) along the LHS of the vehicle.
/
  1. Continue to route the body harness (1) along the LHS and into the luggage compartment.
/
  1. Route the body harness (1) along the LHS of the luggage compartment and towards the trailer / tail harness connectors (2).
/
For P/No: 04998 and 04999 only.
  1. Disconnect the trailer harness 8-way female connector (1) and the tail harness 8-way male connector (2).
  2. Patch in the body harness mating 8-way connectors in between.

For P/No: 04997 & 04998 only.
  1. Connect the body harness 2-way female connector (1) into the 12-pin tail harness mating connector (2).
Note: Any future accessories can be patched in between these two connectors. Total power rating is 30-amps. /
For P/No: 04998 only.
  1. Connect the Body Harness (1) orange & orange/white (2) wires to the positive terminal on the vehicle battery (3).
  2. Connect the Body Harness (1) white wire (4) to the negative terminal on the vehicle battery (3).
  3. Secure the Body Harness with cable ties (not supplied).

For P/No: 04997& 04999 only.
  1. Connect the Body Harness (1) orange wire (2) to the positive terminal on the vehicle battery (3).
  2. Connect the Body Harness (1) white wire (4) to the negative terminal on the vehicle battery (3).
  3. Secure the Body Harness with cable ties (not supplied).

  1. Test the Body Harness function using a light board or multimeter.
  2. Secure all harnesses using cable ties (not supplied).
  3. Re-fit all removed parts and secure all fasteners, ensuring there are no squeaks or rattles.
  4. Place the instructions in glove box after fitment.
