Field Experience Collaboration Assignment
In your Field Experience of 10 hours for this course, you will focus on the students in the classroom with Exceptionalities (e.g., students with IEP’s, 504 plans, LEP), a student whose needs are a result of his/her strengths (e.g. a student with a GSSP), or a student whose engagement is limited (e.g. over-commitment to part-time jobs, family responsibilities, or extracurricular activities) or other exceptionalities that have been identified by the teacher. During your initial visits when you observe (approximately 2 hours), pay specific attention to these students and observe their behavior and how they learn. Talk with the classroom teacher concerning “Monitoring” the work of selected students in order to give feedback to the teacher on their performance
After the initial observation / monitoring, talk with the classroom teacher concerning “Support Teaching”:
- Support teaching – During the teacher’s instruction, support the instruction by working with specific students (either individual or a group) who have been identified by the teacher as needing assistance or those for which there is a differentiated instruction plan. For the assignment, try to work consistently with the same student or group of students.
Record all of your activities in your Field Experience Log and give full detail of your work.
For the course assignment, complete the attached form and submit for grading.
