Department Achievements of the department in last 3 years:

Civil Engineering Department was able to generate approx. 3 Crores in last three years in form of consultancy work offered by various Govt. and private department. The faculty members of the department have completed two research projects sponsored by AICTE, New Delhi and one RPS project sponsored by AICTE is undergoing. The department is able to publish 20 papers out of which 6 are in refeered journals. One week Short Term Training sponsored by ISTE/AICTE on Recent advancement in pavement design including low volume traffic was organised from 16.06.2008 to 20.06.2008. The department organised one day International Seminar on “Concrete for Sustainable High Performance Infrastructures: Challenges and Opportunities” under UKERI Project on 16.02.2010. One of the faculty member was in the organising committee of sixth International Congress on Environment Geotechnics (6ICEG) held at New Delhi from 8.11.2010 to 12.11.2010. One of the faculty member is in the organising committee of UKERI Congress “Concrete for 21st Century Construction” to be held at IIT, Delhi from 8.03.2011 to 10.03.2011. One of the faculty member was awarded IGS-Shri B.N. Gupta Biennial award for the best paper on New Approaches and Techniques for Analysis and Design of Shallow Foundation for the year 2007-08 by Indian Geotechnical Society in year 2008. Many of faculty members of department are in editorial board/reviewers of different international journals. One of the faculty member has been asked to chair a session and deliver keynote address on Open Street Mapping. Many of other faculty members have also chaired/co-chaired National/International Conferences. Department has started new M.Tech. Course in Environmental Science and engineering. More than 30 M.Tech. Thesis in different courses has been completed and one PhD thesis has been submitted by one of faculty members. One heavy testing laboratory with an investment of Rs. 20 lacs has been established in department.
