AUDIO-TECHNICA INTRODUCES NEXT GENERATION OF
UNIPOINT® MICROPHONES FEATURING UNILINE™ ELEMENTS
•1•
STOW, OH, June 19, 2005 — Audio-Technica has reengineered its UniPoint® Series of professional installed-sound microphones, utilizing breakthrough audio and mechanical design improvements to set new standards for sonic quality, durability, clarity, reliability and ease of installation. With more than 30 new hanging, gooseneck, boundary and handheld microphones, the UniPoint line supplies an innovative solution for every acoustical challenge. Four new interchangeable elements lend additional flexibility to the hanging and gooseneck mics, with cardioid, hypercardioid and omnidirectional elements offered, as well as the line cardioid UniLine™ with its tight 90º pickup pattern.
The UniLine condenser element provides well-balanced audio pickup over a narrow angle of acceptance, ideal for applications that require a hanging or podium mic and uncompromised pickup from a specific sound source. As with all new interchangeable A-T UniPoint elements, the UniLine’s improved on-axis response yields outstanding sonic quality — the highest in its class — complemented by superior off-axis rejection for maximum gain before feedback. This consistent ability to deliver exceptionally intelligible audio reproduction ensures the UniPoint Series mics can meet the criteria of any sound installation.
Ten of the 11 new UniPoint podium microphones offer UniGuard™ RFI-shielding technology for unsurpassed immunity from radio frequency interference. They all feature an improved, easy-to-adjust gooseneck with virtually no “memory,” permitting quick positioning into desired shape. The gooseneck’s robust design resists inadvertent repositioning, as well. Clear, high-output performance is assured by the four interchangeable condenser elements that are available.
Also equipped with UniGuard RFI-shielding technology, the latest UniPoint hanging microphones are designed for suspension over choirs, instrumental groups and theater stages. The hanging microphones feature a low-profile design, available in black or white. With sturdy construction and unobtrusive appearance, these hanging mics offer sophisticated and versatile sound reinforcement solutions.
Other new features for the A-T UniPoint Series include an 80 Hz UniSteep® filter for removal of unwanted low frequencies without affecting vocal quality, a two-stage foam windscreen for dramatically improved resistance to P-pops and other breath blasts, and the innovative PivotPoint™ rotating output connector on UniPoint boundary microphones.
Audio-Technica pioneered full-line miniaturization with the original UniPoint Series of professional-use installed-sound microphones, introduced in 1985. The new A-T UniPoint mics offer the utmost in versatility and dependability for corporate, institutional, civic, educational and religious installations — redefining performance standards to address the increasing demand for high-quality, integrated audio solutions in boardrooms, schools, courtrooms, council chambers, galleries and houses of worship. Regardless of acoustic constraints, the Audio-Techncia UniPoint Series achieves the ultimate in clarity and comfortable audibility whether capturing speech or music, and helps overcome auditory distractions with natural, pleasing sound reproduction.
The new UniPoint Series is currently available.
