Economist, US Treasury Dept, Office of the Secretary, Washington, D.C. Responsible for analysis of and recommendations on US international economic and financial policies.
1974-1989
Economist, Project Manager and Office Director.US State Dept., Agency for International Development USAID). Planned and deliveredforeign economic assistance in Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Director for development projects in agriculture, export industries, housing and finance including planning, budgeting and disbursing and recruiting and managing contractors. Became well versed in government processes at all levels of government. Stationed in Indonesia, Bolivia and Barbados.
1989-2000
Vice President. Bank of Tokyo, later merged into Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi,New York City. Reported directly to the board of directors in Tokyo. Responsible for distressed loan workout in Latin America, North Africa and Canada. Converted over $700 million of corporate and government loans to highly profitable equity investments. Shared responsibility for project finance in paper, coal, copper, polyester and oil. Provided my group’s interface with US auditors.
Republican Committee Member.Princeton Borough.RepresentedDistrict 2 on Borough Republican Committee. Identified and persuaded an excellent candidate to run for Borough Council. We worked against Council’s designation of downtown Princeton as a “blighted area” which allowed construction projects to be approved and funded without normal consents and safeguards. We presented the financial consequences of continued increases in bonded debt during a period of rising tax revenues and over funding. We urged Council to adopt a plan for PrincetonUniversity to pay its fair share of town costs.
2000-present
Various entrepreneurial activities including:
Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President for Business Development, EPS Technologies, Inc., a high tech start-up with a patented catalyst to make all hydrocarbon based combustion more efficient and less polluting. Responsible for obtaining testing, procurement interest and research funding from three major US companies.
