1.  Kiritsinh Vijaysinh Gohil of Mota Amba village, Garudeshwar taluka having 4.9 ha. area practicing Papaya, Maize, Banana, Cotton, Sugarcane, Castor cultivation said that earlier we did not know about soil health, nutrient management, nutrient status in the soil etc., and We used excesses Urea, DAP and Potash as a fertilizers for crop cultivation. He received Soil Health Card in 2012-13 from Agriculture Department. He added that he come to know about soil health card programme during Krushi Mahotsava. He also added he got the information about soil health, Nutrient management, nutrient status and nutrient requirement of the crop. Shri Gohil said that on the basis of this card I come to know that how much major and micro nutrient available in soil. After getting all this information, apply balance used of fertilizer with proper interval in the form of chemical and organic form. Result was less expenses and gets higher productivity.

He is very happy with saying that before the year 2012-13, I got average 35 to 40 ton/ha Papaya production with 1.3 – 1.5 lac net profit and now a days after using proper recommendation, my papaya production reached to 60 ton / ha ant net income goes to 2.25 lac form the same piece of land.

He replicate papaya success in Banana production, too, with Banana production 90-100 ton/ ha which was 60-70 ton/ ha before apply soil health card recommendation. This change earns 1.5 lac more make him happy. He happily added that I am getting 15 to 20% higher yield with lesser expanses after Soil Health Card.

2. Patel Pareshbhai Gopalbhai of Vavadi Village, Nandod Taluka Practicing peddy, castor, banana in his 1.02 hector of land, He is a progressive farmer, During the year 2010-11, He was attended Krishi Mahotsav near his village where, He got the Information about soil health, nutrient management, importance of micronutrient etc. After that in the year 2011-12, Though Agriculture Department, He got his SHC having the Information about nutrient available in his soil, crop wise fertilizer recommendation and deficient of nutrient in my soil.

So, He Started to follow the recommendations in card and applied fertilizers in his field. As a result he got maximum productivity with reduced cost of fertilizer as well as increased the soil productivity by using organic fertilizer.

Before year 2011-12, He got and average Rs. 2 – 2.5 lac from banana plantation where as now he got Rs. 3.5 to 4.00 lac per ha.

Similarly in papaya, I got Rs. 1.00 to 1.50 lac Per hector before adoption of SHC recommendation but after that I got 2.50 to 3.00 lacs Rs. Per hector now.

3. Vasava Ashwinbhai Ramsingbhai of Kumbhkhadi village, Dediyapada taluka practicing Paddy, Tur, Maize, Chickpea in his 2 ha. of land. He was received Soil Health Card in 2014-15 which change his view about cropping. He was not known about fertilizer application and its consequences on crop and soil. Shri Vasava said that I received Soil Health Card with full information about my soil health and fertilizer recommendation. I used this soil health card in my farming and as per recommendation I applied fertilizer in field crop cultivation. Use of Soil Health Card makes him prosperous through saving of expenses as well increase in production. He share his success that before year 2014-15, I got 1000-1200 kg/ha production in paddy and now it reach to 1500 to 1600 kg/ha. Similarly in maize, I got 1600 to 1800 kg/ha and now after judicious use of fertilizer as per recommendation of SHC I got 2200-2500 kg/ha. He added that by using SHC, I save may soil health, make it more productivity with less expenses on chemical fertilizer and got more yield.

Names are few but district is now in changing mode with more attention on soil health.
