It is a tradition of the Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse Day to offer a collectable souvenir brooch as a free gift. This year’s elegantly designed brooch is made of silver alloy decorated with a pink crystal embodying a horse head and a horseshoe, symbolising good fortune.
Everyone attending the races at the Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses on 16 October will receive a “Dazzling Horse Brooch”, a Sa Sa discount coupon and an entry form for the “Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse Guess the Winning Horse Game”, which offers 10 prizes of Cyber Colors cash coupons worth HK$1,000 each, HK$10,000 in total. Door gift will be distributed until Race 5 or while stocks last.

2) The Best-dressed Competition with Fabulous Prizes
“Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse Day” preserves the traditional European racing culture that ladies and gentlemen who attend the race meeting will be formally dressed with hats as their key accessories, so racegoers are invited to don their most charming outfit and favourite headwear or hair accessories to watch the races on-course. Ladies can enter the competition by having snaps taken at the Public Stands before Race 5. Three grand prize winners will each be awarded with a Sa Sa cash coupon worth $3,000 and a hat wear. Winners of the merits award will each receive a hat wear or a set of hair accessories. Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse Day image girl Aimee Chan and popular TV artiste Moses Chan are appointed as consultants of the competition.
3) Best Hat Award
Ladies dressed up with splendid hats will have the chance to win the Best Hat Award by taking a photo for selection at the photo corner at the Pubic Stands before 3pm. There will be three winners, each entitled to a Sa Sa gift coupon worth HK$2,000.
4) Enchanting Hat Boutique
The Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse Day provides the perfect showcase for ladies to step out in style and display their splendid dresses and matching hats.
For inspiration on hats, Members are welcome to visit the hat boutique located next to the Owners Pavilion on 1/F, Members Stand, on 9 and 16 October.
Racegoers are also welcome to visit the hat counter and Evita Peroni hair accessories counter located at the Public Stands on 16 October.
5) Sa Sa “Alluring Lady” Make-up Workshop
At the Sa Sa Make-up Workshop in the Concourse Area, racegoers can enjoy professional make-up service for only $30 and will be rewarded with a $50 Sa Sa cash coupon after completion.
6) “The Ultimate Charming Beauty” Fashion Show
Under the tradition of Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse Day, every lady will dress in their finest to attend the racing event. Sa Sa collaborated with the Department of Textiles and Clothing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University to organize “The Ultimate Charming Beauty” Design Competition this year. Elite students and graduates from the university have been invited to create looks for Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse Day under the event theme of The Ultimate Charming Beauty. Honourable judges include Sa Sa Vice-chairman Dr Eleanor Kwok, eminent fashion designer Barney Cheng, renowned milliner Jaycow, and famous model Ana R. Judging will also be open to public, as public may submit their votes on www.sasa.com or www.facebook.com/sasahongkong from now to 10 October. Final results will be announced at the race on 16 October, and the winning entries will be presented by top local models Marie Zhuge, Rose Chan and Jacquelin Chong to showcase The Ultimate Charming Beauty.
7) Aimee Chan attends Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse presentation ceremony
Aimee Chan, together with Sa Sa International Holdings Limited Chairman and CEO Dr Simon Kwok Siu Ming JP, and Vice-Chairman Dr Eleanor Kwok will present commemorative trophies to the Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse winning connections.
8) Celebrity appearance brings star power to event
Racing Specialists share racing insights
Aimee Chan and Moses Chan will make special appearance at the Tipster Forum to meet and greet fans.
Racing Specialists will also be take the stage to interact with the audience and share their racing insights.
9) Special “beauty and fitness” menu
Mezzzone and selected trackside catering kiosks will for the first time offer Ladies’ Purse Day special “beauty and fitness” menu for racegoers.
10) All-new themed merchandise
A range of all-new Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse Day themed merchandise including scarves, wristwatches, bracelets, earrings and tote bags will be available for sale while stocks last in the Concourse Area.
11) Shetland Ponies Photo Corner
Racegoers can visit the Shetland ponies at the Public Stands for photo opportunities.
