Bidder Guidance:
Responses to question 1 shall be evaluated on a 'pass/fail' basis.
To be considered for the award of a specific Pharmacy Partner Opportunity, it is essential that the intended Pharmacy Partner is physically located either within the ward boundary or within quarter of a mile outside of the ward boundary (or can commit to this prior to commencement of the Pharmacy Services Sub-contract).
Evaluation:
Bidders who are unable to evidence that the intended Pharmacy Partner has a physical presence within the wards for which they wish to be considered as described above will fail this part of the assessment (and the remainder of its tender response shall not be considered in respect of that particular Pharmacy Partner Opportunity).
Intended Pharmacy Partners which are located(or will be located) more than quarter of amile outside the ward boundary will not be considered for that particular Pharmacy Partner Opportunity.

How will you ensure that the pharmacy team(s) are well-trained and equipped with the skills and competences needed to deliver the services offered safely and effectively? In particular, how will you train new staff members including locums and maintain the skills of the pharmacy team over time?

Bidder Guidance:
The Bidder should demonstrate that all staff will receive appropriate training for their role, and how the organisation's skills mix enables staff to be used where most needed in response to the demands of the business. Bidders should clarify if staff will receive regular update training, what methods will be used for on-going training (e.g. e-learning, training evenings), and how it will ensure that staff will be provided with opportunities to share experiences and learning. Bidders should also describe how they will ensure that locums are sufficiently trained or supported by existing staff.

Q4. / Safeguarding
How will you ensure that Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults using your pharmacy/pharmacies are safeguarded? How will you review and maintain your safeguarding procedures to ensure they are robust?

The Bidder should demonstrate that the organisation has processes in place / the pharmacy team(s) know what to do to safeguard Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults. Have staff received training in safeguarding? Do staff have details of local safeguarding contacts should they need to seek advice or make a referral? Will you regularly review the way that the organisation operates in regard to safeguarding?

How will you ensure information is managed to protect the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of patients and the public who receive pharmacy services?

Will electronic records be password protected? Will staff have individual smart cards or passwords? Is there an Information Governance policy? Have staff received training in information security?

Bidder Guidance:
The Bidder should evidence that the pharmacy is situated (or will be situated prior to contract commencement) in a convenient location for the public. The Bidder shall, as a minimum, detail the following:
- Location – is the pharmacy located in an area where there is high footfall? Is it located in a high street and/or retail environment? Are there any major employers nearby e.g. a university, hospital or a large manufacturer?Are there good public transport links – is it easily accessible by those without easy access to a car?
- Visibility – are people easily able to see your pharmacy? Can it be seen from the road? Are there obstructions or limitations on signs? Is the route to the pharmacy suitably lit? Is it clearly signed?
