We are…Christ preaching!
We preach Jesus Christ, our crucified and risen Lord, is the only Savior for all the people of the world. Through His suffering, death, and resurrection, we have forgiveness of sins and everlasting life.
We are…Bible believing!
We believe that every word of the Bible is God’s Word; that it is completely true and the only source and authority for Christian life and faith.
We are…People serving!
We want what God wants, that “all people be saved and come to knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:41). We want to share with you and everyone the message of God’s love in Jesus Christ.
“Building on the only foundation there is: Christ crucified and risen!”
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
SUPPLY MANAGER
This involves a trip to Sam’s Club every one or two months to restock our kitchen inventory of plates, napkins, plastic knives, forks and spoons, coffee, creamer, sugar, paper goods, and cleaning supplies. This person could use a church credit card and then provide the church treasurer with receipts.
PROPERTY MANAGER
This person sets up appointments and oversees basic maintenance and repair work in and around the church. Some experience in working with electricians, plumbers, roofers, painters, HVAC contractors, and other service providers would be helpful.
OFFERING COUNTERS
Counts the offering and prepares bank deposit. Time commitment is approximately 30 minutes after the worship service. Minimal computer use; training will be offered.
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS
Teaching God’s Word using WELS materials to two age groups: pre-school to 3rdgrade, and 4th grade and up. Involves some craft preparation. Training and mentoring for this important work will be offered.
PREPARE LORD’S SUPPER (ALTAR SERVICE)
Set up Lord’s Supper prior to Sunday worship, clean and put away altar vessels after the service. Notify church secretary when supplies need to be reordered. Change altar hanging as appropriate through the church year. Optional: arrange altar flowers in vases. Schedule is very flexible.
SIGN MANAGER
This would involve placing various messages – PTV Basketball Camp, “Outdoor Services”, “Merry Christmas” etc. – on the outdoor board throughout the year. This might require an hour or two a month. More could be done with changing monthly or weekly announcements if the person wanted to do more.
FACE BOOK MANAGER
Do you Face Book? This would involve posting pictures, video and announcements on the CTR page. More or less could be done as far as time. The important thing would be to monitor discussions. Time required?

Why is the Bible called the Holy Bible?
Prophecy never had its origin in the will of man,but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. - 2 Peter 1:21
“One more book, Dad! Please!” my two-year-old daughter tells me as she looks at me with her baby blue eyes and holds up her favorite book. It’s amazing how many books we read in a sitting, everything from: Pete the Cat to the Biscuit series, to Pinkalicious to Dr. Seuss. These books contain short stories that hold the attention of the listener (and the reader) while providing some entertainment or education along the way.
We read for many reasons. And we know that most of the things we read whether online, in the newspaper, or in a book must be read with a discerning eye. The problem is that we sometimes struggle to know which parts of them are real and true.
This can be a challenge. But what about when it comes to the Bible, the Holy Bible. Well, that is another story! Why? Throughout Scripture we are told that God’s Word is different. What makes it different? The author is God. Yes, men wrote the Bible but God is the main author. It is his holy, perfect Word.
God tells us some remarkable truths about his Word such as: God’s Word cannot be broken (everything it says is reliable). His Word is truth (why would God lie to us?). His Word is sharp (it can pierce through the hardest of hearts). His Word is alive (it is active). His Word is powerful. His Word always achieves God’s purpose. His Word will never pass away.
While these truths are important to note, it is the message of God’s Word that can’t be overlooked. For God says that the purpose of the Bible, the Holy Bible, is for us to know that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing we may have life in his name.
The Bible is holy. But you have to open and use it to get anything out of it. If you want to change a heart or be comforted by God’s grace, you have to “blow off the dust” and share or listen to the holy words of our God. These are the wordsthat he authored through men, for you, to tell you about his great love and saving activity in Jesus, so that through the encouragement of the Scriptures you might have hope.
