GUEST SPEAKER: Susan Mercier, Edgartown School Committee

-Susan spoke about impact of PTA (based on her experience with Parent Teacher Organizations) and the responsibilities of the Edgartown School Committee.

-Edgartown School Committee meetings are open for the PTA to provide a representative to attend.

-Typically the Edgartown School budget is set in December and in January goes for approval in Town Hall.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

-Martha Cohan (Treasurer) provided update on PTA’s current balance sheet & reconciliations.

PTA MEMBERSHIP UPDATE:

-Julie Lively (President) provided update on PTA membership to-date.

-Kate McCormick nominated as PTA’s teacher liaison.

-PTA to continue outreach for new members. Membership Drive topic for December meeting.

TECHNOLOGY FUNDRAISER:

-“Coffee for Computers” Edgartown School Technology Fundraiser kicks off.

-Packets distributed to classrooms by Thursday Nov 14 to go to students on Friday Nov 15.

-On PTA webpage: flyer can be downloaded and more information available.

-More information on this fabulously unique artisan coffee available @

-Packets to be turned in by Dec 3rd. Coffee orders to be delivered by Friday Dec 14th.

-Thanks to those helped us organize the packets for distribution! We’ll need volunteers to help us fulfill the coffee orders. Thanks in advance for your support.

RECAP: HALLOWEEN-FEST:

-Thanks to all those who helped with Halloween-Fest- before, during and after!

-Notes taken. The change in layout and stations were a notable improvement over last year.

RECAP: SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR:

-Thanks to the volunteers who worked the book fair and helped with the set-up and tear-down.

-Ashley Lambacher collecting feedback. Discussed improvement of PTA volunteer schedule next year.

STUDENT DIRECTORY:

-Status: Final Proofing with Anne Fligor.

ADDITIONAL EVENTS/ACTIVITIES:

-Winter/Spring calendar of events & additional fundraisers being defined. (December PTA Agenda Topic)

-Other fundraising mainstays during school year: Stop & Shop A+ program, Box Tops, Eagle Stickers
