Semester Transition Plan for UC English Composition Sequence

English Composition General Education Requirement for Semesters = 6 semester hours

Students will be required to complete English 1001 (3 hrs.) and 2089* (3 hrs.).

*Note: Engineering students take an alternative mid-collegiate writing course.

Quarter/Semester Composition Course Equivalents:

*Courses meet MWF for 55 minutes; TTh for 80 minutes; or once weekly for 2 hours & 50 minutes.

have completed English 095 (6 quarter hrs.) or placed into English 097, / ENGL0097 (3 semester hrs.).
have completed English 097 (6 quarter hrs.) or placed into English 099 or English 101B, / ENGL1000 (3 semester hrs.).
have completed English 101B (3 quarter hrs elective plus 3 Engl comp quarter hrs), / ENGL 1902 (2 semester hrs.) and ENGL 2989 (2 semester hrs.) for a total of 6 semester hours.
have completed English 101 (3 quarter hrs.), / ENGL 1902 (2 semester hrs) and ENGL2989 (2 semester hrs.) for a total of 6 semester hours.
have completed English 101 (3 quarter hrs.) and 102 (3 quarter hrs.), / ENGL2989 (2 semester hrs.) for a total of 6 semester hours.
