Q:Request APICS Corporate to helpimplement an APICS / Star Chapter user group/steering committee to assist chapters with its use, have a voice in the priority of upcoming Star enhancements, help Star open channels of communication where users can request enhancements that would be improvements for all Star users, therefore developed at no charge to the requestor.
A: There have been requests made by other chapters as well and Henri is researching what Star Chapter can provide. More information to follow.
IV. Agenda Item 2 submitted by Boston Chapter:
Q:APICS District Business Development Program: John Nabor status update.
A: Joost showed a power point to address this item. He explained that the “DBDM” program as we currently know it is being revised again and John Nabor who was our most recent DBDM was not selected to continue with APICS after the vetting process. After 2 years of the DBDM program being in existence, there have been only two “deals” closed as a result. One reason for this was that many of the leads given to the DBDM’s were leads that the chapters knew peripherally but did not have long standing relationships. Corporate called these “telephone book” leads, meaning they were not much better than cold calling companies straight from the phone book.
Abe wants the new territory sales manager program to succeed and as such, has employed APICS sales people dedicated to respective districts. Our dedicated sales person is Doug Bell who was on the call and provided some background about himself and his qualifications. His contact information is:
