Meeting Notes/Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Members introduced themselves.
Action Items Approved
The minutes of the 11/23/2010 meeting were approved as submitted.
Members toured the facility. No recommendations were made. Jerry Klein indicated he is implementing stronger security measures to protect against the loss of tools and equipment.
ASE Certification Test Product Information – Bob Usefof stated that he has purchased Motor AGE test prep guides for all high school programs. The materials will be disseminated to schools upon arrival. Practice test vouchers have also been purchased for students in the Suspension and steering course and beyond. Vouchers have been provided to the teachers.
New Industry Standard Equipment – Ron Wilkinson is preparing a seminar on steering sensors. Bob Usefof encouraged teachers to attend.
New Vehicle Information - Robert Chung stated that Toyota vehicle steering angle sensors have proven difficult to diagnose and adjust.
Useful Software and Web Sites – Bob Usefof posts web links to Hector Lopez stated that he has a web site regarding engines.
Safety Training for Hybrid Vehicles – Jerry Klein asked if anyone was aware of any safety training regarding hybrid vehicles. Bob Usefof mentioned that emergency personnel receive hybrid safety training.
May Car Show – Don Feiner indicated that he would like to do something for schools regarding a car show. Robert Chung indicated that he may be able to do something with Toyota for the event.
Follow-Up Items/Next Steps
Stranahan High School is preparing for the NATEF Program Accreditation Self Study. Members of the advisory committee will be asked to participate.
Adjournment and Date/Time of Next Scheduled Meeting
The next meeting will be April 27, 2011 at Stranahan High School to conduct the NATEF self study. The meeting adjourned at 8:09 pm.
