BBandT Insurance Services of California Complete Service Project for WISEPlace

Santa Ana, Calif.- BB&T Corporation’s Lighthouse Project chose WISEPlace to roll up their sleeves and give back to the community on June 1st and 2nd. In a two day blitz – the

team renovated the commercial kitchen, giving it fresh paint, professional grade cabinets, and a deep cleaning. The lighthouse volunteers also assembled graduation packages for all of the graduates of the WISEPlace Steps to Independence program for the upcoming year. These lovely baskets provide everything a woman needs to start a new life in a place of her own.

WISEPlace is a non-profit organization that offers housing and support services for homeless women who are committed to changing their lives. The Steps to Independence and Positive Step Programs provide housing, food, clothing, physical and emotional nourishment, as well as support services such as individual counseling, resume writing, interviewing support, and affordable housing assistance.

WISEPlace is celebrating 25 years of providing transitional shelter to homeless women in the community. Initially the South Orange County YWCA, the agency now provides transitional housing and support services, homeless prevention, and rapid rehousing for homeless and at-risk women.
