JOB DESCRIPTION – PLAYWORKER

RESPONSIBLE TO –

Deputy Manager/Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR –

The children under your care

PURPOSE OF JOB –

To work as a play worker and as part of the Out of School Club team under the direction of the manager to provide safe, high quality care for children aged 3-11 years.

MAIN DUTIES –

  1. To assist with the planning of daily activities
  2. To help set up the room for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session
  3. To work with groups of children, liasing with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met
  4. To advise the manager of any concerns over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary
  5. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation
  6. To keep the working environment clean and tidy according to Health & safety Guidelines
  7. To refer any work related issues to the Manager on Duty as soon as is practically possible
  8. To attend staff meetings
  9. To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required
  10. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learned as part of the job.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent childcare qualification

Previous experience of working with children

Willingness to learn

Willingness to train for appropriate qualifications

Working Hours: 16 ¼ per week

Pay: £7 per hr
