NAMM WINTER SESSION, ANAHEIM, CA, January 15, 2004 — Audio-Technica introduces its next generation of cost-effective Midnight Blues microphones, based on the critically acclaimed original series, beloved by musicians and engineers alike. When developing the new Midnight Blues mics, A-T’s Research and Design team set out to create a new standard in affordable vocal and instrument microphones. The result is a series of four new mics that feature a high-output design with low handling noise due to A-T’s special anti-shock engineering. In addition, for dependable and exemplary performance, each Midnight Blues model offers rugged all-metal construction and is specially tuned so that vocals and instruments cut through the mix loud and clear.
The new Midnight Blues line is comprised of four models: the MB1k Unidirectional Dynamic Vocal Microphone; MB2k Unidirectional Dynamic Instrument Microphone; MB3k Unidirectional Dynamic Vocal Microphone; and MB4k Cardioid Condenser Microphone. The MB2k, MB3k, and MB4k are enhanced with a comfortable, velvety soft-touch finish for a secure grip and low mechanical noise, plus a protective pouch to store or transport the mic when not in use. All models are available with an optional (15') XLRM cable.
The MB1k Unidirectional Dynamic Vocal Microphone is a great introductory performance mic designed for use as a lead, backup, or choral vocal microphone. It features Audio-Technica’s Hi-ENERGY® neodymium magnet structure for maximum output and fast transient response, Magna-Lock™ switch design for silent on-off operation, as well as corrosion-resistant gold-plated XLRM connectors. The MB1k also includes the AT8470 Quiet-Flex™ stand clamp and 5/8"-27 to 3/8"-16 threaded adapter.
The MB2k Unidirectional Dynamic Instrument Microphone is a cost-effective introductory mic designed to capture amplified and acoustic instruments. The MB2k has a tailored frequency response for optimal instrument reproduction, Hi-ENERGY neodymium magnet structure, noise-reducing soft-touch finish, Magna-Lock switch, as well as gold-plated XLRM connectors. The MB2k also includes the AT8470 Quiet-Flex stand clamp.
The MB3k Unidirectional Dynamic Vocal Microphone has an extended frequency response specifically developed to capture lead, backup, and choral vocals. Its Hi-ENERGY neodymium magnet structure provides improved output and extremely fast transient response. Add to that A-T’s Magna-Lock silent switch, pleasing soft-touch finish, gold-plated XLRM connectors, along with an AT8470 Quiet-Flex stand clamp, and the MB3k is certain to satisfy the discriminating vocalist or live sound engineer.
At the top of the Midnight Blues line, the MB4k Cardioid Condenser Microphone is an exceptional introductory studio-quality microphone. Featuring a condenser design, the MB4k is perfectly at home in the project or home-recording environment. It has an extended frequency response for smooth, natural sound quality, soft-touch finish, on/off switch, gold-plated XLRM connectors, plus battery/phantom operation for maximum versatility. In addition, the MB4k comes with an AT8405a stand clamp, battery, and 5/8"-27 to 3/8"-16 threaded adaptor.
All models in the new Midnight Blues line are confidently backed by Audio-Technica’s exclusive five-year warranty.
