Minutes of Meeting held onTuesday10 March 2015inthe Black Bull Inn, Earlston.

2 / General Business / PATH ROUTES:
2.1) Leader Water Path :The Group noted that:
- Tidy up continuing but almost completed; path generally in very good condition. Step repairs above SorrowlessfieldBridge completed. Marker discs added to finger posts to enhance and rationalise overall way-marking and strengthen Paths Group's image; this work would also be carried out on other marker posts across the paths network as appropriate.
- Ways toimprove signage to start of walkcarried forward.
- Stepsrepairs on the tennis court bank at Cowdenknowes had been carried out.
- Litter bin at North Lodge entrance emptied; bin being well used but some dog fouling still in evidence along path;sadly no real way to stop this happening.
- General path surface tidy up completed.
2.4) Sorrowlessfield Mains to Gattonside: The Group noted that:
- A meeting with SBC Access Warden and Melrose Paths was scheduled for 19 March. Outcome would be reported at next meeting.
- Glendinning Groundworks who would carry out the work in Mill Meadow had still to provide a start date. Follow up contact to be made.
- Preparatory tree maintenance work had been carried out; additional tree work completed by David Brown.
- Improvement plan would be implemented over next 9 months. Group would be kept informed of progress and need for additional assistance.
2.8) Sorrowlessfield: The Group noted that:
- Some minor "topping up" of hardcore surface required; situation would be kept under review.

2.10) The “Jubilee Path”: The Group noted that:
- Forestry workcontinuing. Still some felled timber to be removed.Agent had indicated that path might be scraped by contractor; further update to be obtained in due course.
- Glen Road drainage still an issue; run-offs to be checked in due course.
- General tidy up along rest of pathwas under way and would continue until completed.

3 / Finance / The Group noted the Treasurers report:
- No significant spend had taken place since the last meeting.
4 / Web site / Social Media / The web site continues to be updated on a regular basis. Twitter following remains steady with the same information as web site being shared. Stats show a continued use of both by web visitors / Twitter followers. A recent photograph of snowdrops by a walker on the Circular Path and put outvia Twitter had generated 50 reactions; positive, publicity for the Group and community.
5 / Other Business / 5.1) Educational / Information display boards: The Group noted that:
- BFT Trustees had confirmed support for the project.
- Contact made with SBC Planning Officer re Leaderfoot map shelter. Very positive and helpful response received and as a result further meetings with other SBC departments in the pipeline.
- Meeting arranged with Osprey Co. Coldstream; suppliers of display boards.
- Other information gathering continuing.
- Group to be updated at next meeting
- The "Walk It" group coffee morning on behalf of the Paths Group would be held on SATURDAY 14 MARCH 2015in Hanover Close lounge. New Paths Group banner, to complement the existing one, for display outside the venue was ready.
- Postcards & 2016 CD calendar: still on track.
- "Hosted Event":The Group discussed the proposal further and decided that the idea should developed and potential venue and numbers explored in more detail. Further discussion/ideas at next meeting
