Instructions for WSSA Student Poster Competition
- Postersarepresented at the same time and location as the Association Buffet Breakfast, on the Friday morning of the conference, and the winning poster is chosen by vote of the conference attendees at the Breakfast
- Contestants are expected to attend the conference and be available at the breakfast to answer questions about their posters.
- There are separate competitions for undergraduateand graduateposters.
- The student(s) presenting the winning poster will receive a prize of $250 and free registration for the next year’s WSSA conference. Second-place winners will receive a prize of $125 and free registration for the next year’s WSSA conference.
PosterRequirements
- Posters should depict recent student research and/or student class projects.
- Postersaretobe created solely by students;postersco-authoredwithfacultyorpostdocs willnotbe accepted.
- Posters must be displayed on no more than two standard size poster boards (22 X 28)
- WSSA will provide the means by which the posters can be displayed, including the display apparatus.
- Poster proposals must be submitted no later than December 1 of the year before the conference.
- Allcompetition entriesmustbeendorsedthroughsubmissionofacoversheetthatissignedbythestudentandby the student’s faculty advisor. Posterswithoutthesponsoring professor’sendorsementwillnotbeaccepted. Thecoversheetisshown at the end of these instructions.
- Winnersofthestudentpapercompetitionareexpectedtoattendandpresenttheirpaperinordertoreceivetheircheck for the cash prize.

- Enter the poster competition via the link to our online competition submissionsystem, using the link shown below.
- Click on the submission link, below
- Enter your name, institution, and email address
- If the poster has more than one author, click the button labeled “Click here to add more presenters”, and enter the information for the other authors. Remember that all of the authors on a single poster must be either undergraduates or graduates
- Enter the poster’s title
- Enter the poster’s abstract (nottoexceed200words)
- Click the “I’m not a robot” box
