Class 1 - 80cmHunter Trial

NOVICE SECTION A) Approx. 80cm, Horse & rider combination never to have won a hunter trial / Event at this height or above or completed a BE event or competed at PC novice level eventing or higher or represented the riding club at team eventing level. The optimum time based on a BE80T XC speed. Riders must be 8 years or over.Rosettes for Best U16 RIDER & ROR

OPEN SECTION B) Approx. 80cm. The optimum time based on a BE80T XC speed. Riders must be 8 years or over. Open to all. Rosettes for Best JUNIOR RIDER & ROR

Class 2 – ‘The Potty Productions’ 80cm Fun Team Chase

Approx 80cm. Teams of 3 riders. There will be a bogey time based on a BE100 XC speed. Minimum rider age 8 years. At least one rider in the team must be Over 11 years.

Class 3- 95cm ‘Open’ Hunter Trial

Approx 95cm. Riders 10 years or over.Optimum time based on a BE100 XC speed. Rosettes for Best JUNIOR RIDER & ROR

Class 4 – Open 95cm Fun Team Chase

Approx 95cm. Teams of 3 riders, all 3 scores count. There will be a bogey time based on a BE Novice XC speed. Minimum rider age 10 years. At least one rider in the team must be over 13 years.

Class 5 – ‘Open Plus’ Hunter Trial.

Approx 95cm with optional bonus fences up to 1m10. Rider 12 year or over. Optimum time based on a BE100 XC Speed. Rosettes for Best JUNIOR RIDER & ROR

Entry Fee for classes1, 3, and 5: £26which includes a Medical fee.
Entry Fee for classes 2 and 4: £60which includes a Medical fee.

Course Walk: The course will be available for walking from 2pm on Saturday 24th March.

ROSETTES & PRIZES: Rosettes will be awarded 1st – 6th in each class. Classes 1, 3, and 5;Prizes as follows; 1st £20 & 1 x bag of Dodson & Horrell Ultimate Balancer(5+ entries), 2nd £10 & £15 D & HVoucher(10 + entries), 3rd £10D & H Voucher (10+ entries). Classes 2 and 4; Rosettes 1st – 6th, 1st TEAM £60 plus 3 x 10kg Tub of D&H Ultimate Balancer (4+ teams entered), 2nd Team £30 & D&H Vouchers (6+ teams entered), 3rd Team: D & H Vouchers (10+ entries)

SPECIAL ROSETTES / PRIZES: Special Rosettes for Best Family/School/Hunt/Veteran* teams in classes 2 and 4. Highest placed ROR horse (registered) in classes 1,3 &5 & Highest places ROR teams in Classes 2 & 4 will each receive a voucher for a RoR branded prize.

CANCELLATION: If the event is doubtful due to weather all information will be posted on the Ian Stark Website and Facebook page.

This event will be run in accordance to British Eventing Cross Country Rules with the exception of the following;

  • Each class will have an optimum ‘bogey’ time. The winner of the Hunter Trial classes will be the combination with the least faults and nearest the optimum time.Faults will be given for refusals, rider/horse falls and exceeding the bogey time. For the Open Plus class – the winner will be on the least faults, with the most bonus points and nearest the bogey time.
  • The winner of the Team Chase classes will be the team that complete the course nearest the bogey time, faults will only be taken into account if there is a tie for placings. The clock will start as the first rider leaves the start box and the clock will stop when the last rider crosses the line.
  • Individuals / Teams that are deemed dangerous by officials will be stopped immediately and eliminated.
  • *Team Chase – ‘Family team’ can comprise of sisters, brothers, parents, grandparents, 1st cousins, aunties & uncles! Veteran teams can compile of 3 riders over 50 or 3 horses over 15 – or a mixture of veteran riders & horses!
  • There will be between 15 and 18 numbered fences in all classes and it will be run over undulating terrain. The course will not exceed 2,000m.
  • Medical armbands are not mandatory but are advised.
  • The organisers do not accept any responsibility for loss, injury, damage or accident to any person, animal or property whatsoever.
  • Vehicles parked at the owner’s risk.
  • No refunds after closing date. In the event of cancellation, refunds will be given within 10 days and less £5 per entry (to cover admin costs).
  • Horses / Ponies must be 4 years or over.
  • Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
  • Horses /Ponies must NOT be left tied to Lorries / trailers unattended.
  • No mucking out of Lorries / trailers onto car park area.
  • Horses may compete in a maximum of 2 classes.
  • If competitors have 3 refusals at one fence resulting in elimination they must leave the course immediately unless advised by the fence judge or other official.
  • A horse or rider fall = elimination and must leave the course immediately unmounted.
  • Organiser have the right to refuse entries if oversubscribed – please enter well in advance.
  • Entries will not be accepted without payment.
  • The times will be recorded by official timing equipment that shall be collaborated prior to the event commencing. Timing evidence provided by individuals out with the official timer’s will not be accepted.Stop watches must NOT be worn.
  • Objections must be lodged in writing with the secretary, accompanied bya deposit of £25 (only refundable if objection successful) within 20minutes of the results being published. The organiser’s decision is final.
