Carnegie Hall Link Up
Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, Any Given Child, Carnegie Hall
And
Tulsa Public Schools
Tulsa Public Schools is proud and excited to partner with TSO as they join the world-wide network of schools and orchestras using the Carnegie Hall LinkUp program and curriculum.
This year the program has grown beyond all expectation! TSO has partnered with the Kennedy Center initiative called Any Given Child. With that partnership, every fourth grade student will attend a concert and actually perform with the orchestra! Each school has the option of including third grade and fifth grade students to also attend and perform! They will use LinkUp’s curriculum entitled “The Orchestra Sings” to learn movement, vocal pieces, and soprano recorder pieces to perform with Tulsa Symphony Orchestra.
Each year a different curriculum will be used with students gaining additional skills and knowledge about high quality music.

Link Up Information (as found on the Carnegie Hall website)
Students in grades 3–5 are given the opportunity to join the orchestra in this highly participatory program, in which they learn to sing and play an instrument in the classroom and perform with a professional orchestra from their seats at a culminating concert at Carnegie Hall. During the 2015–2016 season, NYC students participated in The Orchestra Rocks—one of three Link Up curricula. Orchestras across the country and around the world are also taking part in Link Up. Partner orchestras can utilize any of the program materials—including teacher guides, student materials, concert scripts, and concert visuals—in their own communities.
Inspiring the next generation of music lovers, these programs are the perfect opportunity for students and teachers to make music in their classrooms and at Carnegie Hall, building a deeper understanding of music’s importance to the culture of local communities and the world. The Weill Music Institute also provides a wide range of professional development opportunities to educators and administrators from diverse musical backgrounds, both locally and nationally.
