A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Jacqueline Ruth Griffith "Jackie" Mullins.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Jackie Mullins, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.
WHEREAS, Jackie Mullins was born on December 11, 1942, a native of Mason County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on September 21, 2000; and
WHEREAS, Jackie Mullins was the loving daughter of Roy and Beryl Griffith, of Winchester, Ohio; she was the beloved wife of thirty-four years to Gordon F. Mullins, former Legislative Research Commission employee; and she was the adored mother of a son, Gordon Todd Mullins, and a daughter, Rebecca Barrett Mullins, an employee with the Legislative Research Commission; she was the loving sister of a brother, Barry Griffith, of Winchester, Ohio, and two sisters, Charlotte Gilbert, of Richmond, Virginia, and Rebecca Semple, of Winchester, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Jackie Mullins graduated from Minerva High School in Mason County in 1960; and she attended Morehead State University and the University of Kentucky; she was retired from Sears Roebuck and Company where she was an Associate for twenty years, and she was a former deputy Mason County Court Clerk; and
WHEREAS, Jackie Mullins was a devout and active member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Chancel Choir and the Pat Herren Circle of United Methodist Women; she was former co-chair of fund raising for the United Methodist Women, a former member of the church's Administrative Board, and served as a volunteer receptionist at the church and the United Methodist Mission Dental Clinic; and she was recording secretary for the Central Kentucky Right to Life Association and a board member of the Kentucky Right to Life Association; and
WHEREAS, Jackie Mullins will best be remembered as a loving and caring mother who was admired for her strong Christian beliefs that allowed her to love and serve God with all her heart and soul, and in doing so, she contributed toward the happiness of others with the spirit that dwelled within her; her life was illustrated through her faith, and her perpetual serenity and cheerfulness was demonstrated throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Jackie Mullins has left a void that cannot be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Jackie Mullins, and extends to her family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. The passion, dedication, and social consciousness Jackie Mullins brought to this Commonwealth will never be forgotten, and her influence will continue through her loving family and all the lives she touched.
Section 3. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Jackie Mullins.
Section 4. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Gordon Mullins, 3437 Birkenhead Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40503.
