Arguments are made up of two main elements: claims and basis. For example, a claim might be: I doubt that large corporations such as Nike influence the economic health of a developing country. To make this claim convincing, there needs to be a basis for it. There are two kinds of basis: 1. Business studies concepts, models and theories which explain how the business world works, 2. Facts, figures and reports which are data or evidence from the world of business.
