2012 Summer Conference Scholarship Application
The GII Scholarship Program provides financial support for member Goodwill representatives to attend the spring or summer conferences, as well as the Conference of Executives and Delegate Assembly. Please refer to MyGoodwill, the GII members’ web site, for program guidelines. Completed applications should be faxed or emailed to Rosemarie McBride, at (301) 258-0622 or , no later than Friday, June 8, 2012. Applicants will be notified of scholarship status by Monday, July 2, 2012.
Application Guidelines
Scholarship awards will be decided primarily on financial need based on the most recent data submitted to the MSR in accordance with the Membership Standards Policy; however additional factors such as the following may also be considered:
· Applicant is new to Goodwill.
· Applicant is the Chief Executive Officer at a recently formed or merged member organization.
· Applicant is attending an event as part of a written recommendation from a GII consultative report.
· Applicant’s Goodwill has a signed member agreement and is current in member dues and/or has an executed dues agreement.
The applicant’s Goodwill must be in compliance with the Continuing Organizational Membership Standards Policy and current in its dues payments (no more than one month delinquent). Scholarship Applications from Goodwill’s that are not in compliance WILL NOT be considered for assistance by the Scholarship Committee.
The maximum scholarship available for any individual applicant is limited to $1,000 and will be distributed on a stipend basis. All scholarship applications are reviewed by a committee of Goodwill CEOs.
Application Process
· Register online for the 2012 Delegate Assembly. Select the “Invoice” option, but do not send a check to GII.
· Download and complete the Scholarship Application. Answer all questions and provide detailed information about your need for the scholarship.
· Fax or email application and all supporting documentation to the attention of Rosemarie McBride at (301) 258-0622 . Applications must be received before Friday, June 8, 2012.
· Approved scholarship applicants will receive an email confirming the amount of the award no later than Monday, July 2, 2012. The registration fee will be deducted from the award, and any balance will be mailed to the sponsoring Goodwill 30 days of the event. Non-approved scholarship applicants will receive an invoice for the event and if he or she elects not to attend, GII will void the registration.
Non-native English speakers who apply for scholarships must be willing and able to demonstrate competency in English. All international scholarship recipients bear full responsibility and cost for passports, visas and any other immigration documentation or requirements for entry into the U.S. or Canada.
