Are you or members of your program team certified to operate KFAI’s on air equipment?

I am certified to operate KFAI’s on air equipment and passed all the required tests

Please describe your volunteer duties at KFAI. How many hours do you volunteer per month?

I am dedicating any free time to help the station to achieve the mission statement: broadcast information, arts and entertainment programming for an audience of diverse racial, social and economic backgrounds. I applied about 8 hours per month answering phone calls, helping at the library and helped for the Spring Pledge Drive.

List your broadcast experience:

As an engaged volunteer at KFAI, I presented wave projects, substituted for shows and had a show about African women during the “Women without Boundaries" throughout the month of March 2007.

I also had a good experience about African music when I was helping at Nostalgie FM, (Togo, West Africa) in the music department.

Title of proposed program: / JUKEBOX AFRIQUE

Please list the program openings for which you would like to be considered. You may rank them in order of preference if you are applying for more than one opening.

1-  Saturday 7:00-9:00pm

In general, what times are you available to produce a show live on the air?

I am available from 6:00pm to 12:00pm, Monday to Sunday.

Please provide a detailed description of your program.

The Jukebox Afrique is the program dedicated to African music and cultures; the show will diffuse exclusive music from Africa and the Caribbean Diaspora, the top 20 songs, news, events and tendencies from the continents; and everything will be in French.

Who is the intended audience for this program? How are you connected to your intended audience and how do your connections make you qualified to produce your proposed program?

Graduated from the Metropolitan States University, I was a member of the African Association and have contact with Students Associations in Austin, MN, University of Minnesota, Mankato, St Cloud, and Colleges around USA.

The Jukebox Afrique wants to bring to KFAI listeners the entire African/French community include students, artists, Professionals and others who want to discover a new sensation of radio show!

Why should KFAI air this program?

KFAI should consider this program because the JUKEBOX AFRIQUE will be the “the multipote” of African/French culture and music. People will be attracted to the show because the music selection will be excellent and different from what listeners hear at radios stations around US

What special knowledge, experience, or education do you have that will help you produce this program?

Based on my education background (Finance major graduated), professional background ( Accountant) and my culture background that guide me to be an expert about the music from the continent, I have the perfect profile to drive this show to a real success for KFAI.

How does this program help fulfill KFAI’s mission?

KFAI wants to be part of the community services. Jukebox Africa wants to be a real connection to add the target: the African/French community. We need to have more people listen to the radio and for that we need to attract new listeners.

What access to relevant materials do you have (music, subscriptions, other resources)? Please be specific.

I have a real good contact with radios stations in Africa. My own music library is updated every month with new releases sent from Africa and the “Diasporas” in France.

Give a detailed description of a typical show. Please attach additional pages if necessary.

·  If you are proposing a music show, make a sample playlist of artists/selections.

·  If you are proposing a talk, public affairs, or arts program, list people you may interview, topics you would discuss, and sources of information you would use, etc.

·  List any ideas you have for special programs, features, etc.

Attached is the demo for a typical show of jukebox Africa; Plus I want to invite the African Community to the radio and share theirs ideas; Students, Artists, and Professionals will be invited for Talks.

If you are not selected for a current opening, do you want your program proposal to remain on file to be considered for future openings?
