Job Title: Start-Up Enterprise Tutor/s

Reporting to: Head of Skills (Classroom & Traineeships)

Locations: Birmingham/ Leicester / Tonbridge or London / Chelmsford/ Ealing/ As needed

Role Overview:

 Delivering distance, blended & face to face teaching, training & support to individuals to meet their learning journey, particularly as part of the Ixion sub-delivery of the Work & Health Programme delivery towards Self Employment.

  • Support the wider skills & Ixion divisions

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivery of e.g. DYE courses to unemployed and employed learners at a variety of locations, using distance learning, blended and face to face delivery. Other course delivery as locally directed by your line manager that fits your teaching experience to range of ages and course types.
  • Ability to assess, screen for suitability and progress learners as necessary.
  • Plan, review and deliver practical quality sessions giving comprehensible instructions to learners. This includes giving detailed verbal and written feedback to all course applicants.
  • Motivating and inspiring the learners towards realistic opportunities, and in particular self-employment.
  • Conduct contract interventions as each assigned contract requires, that could eg lead to signposting to Volunteer mentors, supporting with self-employment sustainment.
  • Work on Ixion contracts, as directed and agreed by your line manager.
  • Support learners in implementing their action plan, as Ixion are commissioned to deliver
  • Update and maintain learner records as required
  • Contribute to the design of course materials as requested by the senior qualifications administrator
  • Referring learners as required to further progression to both external & internal parties
  • Maintain learner information ensuring quality and integrity of the data
  • Organise and plan your workload to achieve targets
  • Building and develop relationships with employers
  • Carry out reviews of learners progression as and when required
  • Deliver qualifications to the agreed standard meeting both Ofsted and awarding organisation guidelines
  • Attend regular meetings with the Senior Qualifications administrator
  • Liaising with other team members to achieve objectives
  • Work as part of a wider team and within the company’s ethos
  • Contribute to implementing a standard induction process
  • To maintain the standard across all contracts delivered through skills
  • Understand and adhere to all responsibilities to ensure that the quality requirements of Ixion’s Quality Assurance Framework, the prime contractor, funding body, Investors In People, OFSTED, DWP Quality Framework, or any other contract stakeholder, are maintained

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend training as identified through reviews with your line manager and the Ixion appraisal process, or as identified by the prime contractor
  • Work flexibly across offices & remote locations, as and when directed by your line manager
  • Undertake any other responsibilities and ad hoc duties as required by Ixion
  • Promote the principles of Equality and Diversity and ensure that the policy is fully applied at all times
  • Understand and adhere to all personal responsibilities under Health & Safety and Safeguarding procedures, and ensure that the policies are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure that the Code of Conduct, Data Protection, Harassment & Bullying, Confidentiality, Anti-Fraud, Data Security and all other policies of the Company are fully applied at all times
  • Strictly adhere to all Ixion processes and procedures
  • Ensure that you work to the Ixion Group’s vision, values, objectives and priorities and are strongly committed to them

Essential

  • Teaching and assessing experience/ qualified experience
  • Self-employment experience/managing own business
  • Enjoys using digital re distance learning tools and ways of teaching & learning and uses the tools to motivate others
  • Managing costs and budgets
  • Excellent Maths, English & IT skills
  • Evidence of supporting learners success
  • Very good standard of oral and written communication
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Friendly and open manner with a calm approach
  • Good organisational skills, flexible approach to work & the ability to meet deadlines
  • Customer focused with the ability to maintain excellent personal relationships with individuals internally and externally at all levels
  • Capable of working on own initiative with minimal direction
  • Good motivational skills, including handling multiple tasks and complex situations e.g. arranging meetings with numerous attendees
  • Good time management and ability to work well under pressure

Desirable

  • Good ICT skills including Microsoft packages
  • Knowledge of Welfare benefits would be beneficial
  • Ability to liaise with other training professionals

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • PGCE/DTTLS/Cert ED
  • D32/A1/TAQA
