Jigsaw Rubric

5 / 4 / 3 / 2 / 1
Summary Content / Essence of the book is interestingly captures. Your summary shows understanding and insight of both the literal and the figurative (think allegory!). / Audience seems engaged, shows clear understanding of the content. It borders more on superficial than insightful, however. / This summarizes most of the book, but it is very literal. It could be more engaging. / The main idea of the book is presented, but many details are omitted. Lacks insight and audienceinterest. / Summary shows littleunderstanding of the assignment. Material was not carefully read.
Summary Mechanics / Wellwritten. Excellent grammar. No Blacklisted words. Flows nicely. Vivid verbs. No Punctuation errors. Wow! / Well written. A few errors in grammar. Good job. / Some intermittent errors. Some blacklisted words snuck in there. / Yikes. Edit your work. Several errors here as well as a clear violation of the blacklisted words. / Poor language. Difficult to follow. Reading it was like traversing through a minefield-I didn’t know where to go!
Oral Presentation / Content was clearly and interestingly presented. You explained more than you read from your written summary. All participants equally involved. You have clear mastery of this material. Articulate, insightful presentation. / Easy to follow. Most members participated equally. Clear audience interest. / We could follow you, but there too much reading of the written summary, which indicated to me you do not have mastery over this material. Only some members did the talking. / Reading your written summary is not presenting. I am not seeing a team effort here. Watch the “likes” and “ums.” / Between all the “likes” and “ums” and the soft voice, I could hardly follow your presentation. I know I am partially deaf, nut come on people!
Illustration / Interestingly captures the essence of the book’s content. Good attention to detail. / Clear connection between the illustration and the content. Attractively presented. / Some connection between the illustration the content-but it had to be explained to me. Lacks derail. / Little connection between the illustration and the content. Lacks detail. / Which book was that illustration for? This looks like it was done five minutes ago!
