What: SC EdTech 2012 – Hitech Adventure South Carolina’s premier educational technology conference, is designed to promote the use of educational technology to enhance student learning. The mission of EdTech is to bring educators, administrators, technology professionals, college faculty and staff, public and academic librarians, business and industry trainers, industry representatives, and policy makers together to think, discuss, listen, and learn the best strategies to plan for, implement, and use educational technology in our schools. This invitation is being issued to all involved in education—from novice to expert.

When and Where: EdTech 2012 will be held October 24-26, 2012 at the TD Convention Center in Greenville, South Carolina.

Call for Presentations:

EdTech 2012 invites you to submit an application to present a one-hour session on Wednesday, October 24, Thursday, October 25, or Friday, October 26. The application form is available online at: http://www.scaet.org/apps/member/cfp/.. Session content should focus on technology in educational settings. We welcome submissions from professionals in educational technology that represent any academically or technically relevant discipline. In addition, we will have vendor-sponsored presentations by industry experts.

As you prepare your proposal to present please check all information for accuracy, completeness, spelling, and grammar. Information associated with accepted applications will be used for conference program guidebooks, web content, and other publications.

Selection Process:

All applications to present for EdTech 2012 will be selected by the conference selection committee based on the following criteria:

·  Interest to conference attendees

·  Content of presentation

·  Quality of presentation

·  Completeness and accuracy of application

·  Qualifications and experience of presenter

Presentation Content:

The following strands will be used to group sessions into specific learning tracks: Adult Education, Elementary Education, High School Education, Higher Education, Technical Support, Special Education, Media Specialists, Testing Coordinators, Principals/Administrators, Staff Development

Appropriate topics might include:

Session Handouts:

All handouts should be prepared to be made available on the Internet along with presenter contact information. Details for submission will be included in the notification of acceptance sent to the main presenter listed on the application.

Presenters per Session and Application Notification:

Notification of acceptance will be via email to the main presenter listed on the application. A session may be presented more than once, and by more than one individual. Complimentary registration will only be provided for the main presenter. As presentations are accepted, we will post the list on the EdTech webpage: http://edtech.scaet.org/.
