Fundraising/Ambassador Volunteer
ROLE DESCRIPTION

Time Commitment: / Commitment of one 2 or 4 hour shift, once a month (schedule to be advised) for a minimum of six months.
Must be available shifts either during the day (between 9:30AM – 3:30PM).
Volunteering Objective:
To increase awareness of the mission, vision, and work of Elizabeth Fry Toronto while supporting the Resource Development team in their charitable gaming (BINGO) fundraising efforts.
Responsibilities:
Working with a partner, volunteers will represent Elizabeth Fry Toronto to those playing bingo at the Delta St. Clair bingo hall, located at Old Weston Road and St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a positive, professional and enthusiastic attitude towards customers accessing charitable gaming.
- Representing the agency to all customers, including distributing information/leaflets, answering questions about our programs, and explaining how funds raised from bingo will benefit Elizabeth Fry Toronto.
- Greeting customers and providing excellent customer service, including providing general information about the bingo hall and troubleshooting equipment.
- Assisting with creating a fun, active and welcoming environment.
- Set-up, takedown of information table
- Completing any other duties as requested by bingo hall staff
- Communicate any issues/concerns to the Resource DevelopmentCoordinator at Elizabeth Fry or Delta St. Clair staff in a timely manner.
Expectation/Criteria:
- Able to commit at least 2-4 hours a month. Attend all shifts as scheduled, and inform Resource Development Coordinator of any absence as soon as possible.
- Be available for day (2 or 4 hours shifts between the hours of 9:30AM- 3:30PM) shifts.
- A minimum of a 6 month commitment required.
- Must adhere with program procedures, including dress codes.
- Be able to attend mandatory training at Elizabeth Fry Toronto and Delta St. Clair bingo hall for specific tasks and responsibilities.
- Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
Additional Skills/Interests An Ideal Candidate Would Poses:
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and issues impacting individuals primarily women in conflict with the law an asset
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience in a charitable gaming facility is helpful but not essential.
- Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills
