We are looking for a dynamic, caring, innovative and experienced educator to perform the role of Vice-Principal. This position is available for the 2016/2017 school year with possibility of extension.

You will:

Assist the Principal in the effective administration of programming including: building relationships and developing staff; setting direction; developing the department organization; leading instructional programs; securing accountability; working with stakeholders and community members

What we are looking for:

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Valid certificate of registration and qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers.

•Principal qualifications Part 1 or currently enrolled in Part 1

•Deaf Specialist qualifications

•Special Education qualifications (minimum Special Education Part 1 or currently pursing)

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

•Successful experience teaching Deaf students

•Excellent knowledge of: Ontario’s education system; the Education Act/associated regulations; the curriculum review/implementation processes; education of Deaf students.

•Excellent knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum and ability to provide instructional leadership to Elementary/Secondary/ Resource programs.

•Well-developed communication/interpersonal/supervisory/management skills.

•Advanced knowledge of assistive technology for Deaf students

•ASL fluency required

•Ability to travel throughout Ontario
