II. REVIEW OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes, 65B/WG7/TF3(MELBOURNE/MINUTES), were approved as of the 2003-01-22 version.

IV. STATUS OF DOCUMENTS
IEC 61131-3, 2nd Edition is now published as IEC 61131-3(2003-01), Programmable controllers - Part 3: Programming languages. Two editorial comments from Finland (relating to versions of IEC 60617-12 and -13) and three editorial comments from Japan were accepted, and one editorial comment from Japan (relating to the RTC block in Annex F.10) was accepted with a correction. ACTION ITEM(JHC): Verify that these responses are incorporated in IEC 61131-3, 2nd Ed. as published. STATUS(2003-07-02): DONE. All comments are correctly incorporated except comment from Japan on F.10. This is logged to pt3e2err.doc.
The proposed CDV of IEC 61131-8, 2nd Edition (pt8e2cdv2.doc) was published for voting as 65B/478/DTR. Comments were received from Finland and Japan, and IEC Central Office has edited the document; however, it appears that a number of errors were introduced during this process.
V. PREPARATION OF IEC 61131-8 (TR) 2ND EDITION FINAL DRAFT
TO CONSIDER: Explain (in new Annex A.5) normative and informative use of NOTES, EXAMPLES and FOOTNOTES in text, tables and figures per ISO/IEC directives, Part 2. DONE as Annex A. STATUS: DONE.
Editorial changes in the document 65b-61131-8ed2-TR-CDV-FE-mfu-E1-ARC.doc were considered with the following conclusions:
· Use of abbreviations instead of full terms (e.g., POU, FB, FBD, ST, LD, IL, SFC, etc.) throughout the document is acceptable as long as a Table of Abbreviations is given as an additional subclause 1.4.
· All program listings and figures using the monospaced Courier New font are restored to their original formats in the submitted document pt8e2cdv2.doc - do not eliminate multiple spaces or spaces around punctuation in these cases. ACTION ITEM (JHC): Correct as needed. STATUS: DONE 2003-06-24.
ACTION ITEM (JHC): Convey these recommendations to the SC65B Secretariat. STATUS: DONE 2003-06-24.
ACTION ITEM (JHC): Correct labeling of subfigures per Directives Part 2, 6.6.5.11. STATUS: DONE 2003-06-24.
ACTION ITEM (ALL): Check final editing of 61131-8 before submitting to C.O. STATUS: DONE 2003-06-24.
ACTION ITEM (JHC): Forward new disposition of comments to Secretariat along with edited 61131-8 and post to website. STATUS: DONE 2003-06-24.
NOTE (from previous minutes): 61131-8 3rd Ed. will discuss how to migrate within the 61311-3, 3rd Ed., 61499-compliant device/resource architecture architecture to a consistent, distributable application architecture, e.g., by replacing rising-edge Boolean variables by events, etc.
VI. MAINTENANCE ITEM PROPOSAL FOR IEC 61131-3, 3RD EDITION
A file of items to be considered in the 3rd Edition of IEC 61131-3 is uploaded as pt3e3.htm and linked to the TC65/WG6 home page.
A draft ERRATA list for IEC 61131-3, 2nd Ed. is uploaded as pt3e2err.doc and linked to the TC65/WG6 home page. A comment received from PLCopen regarding footnote a of Table 20, along with a recommended disposition, has been logged to this list, along with a number of editorial corrections. ACTION ITEM (JHC): Upload the revised list. STATUS: DONE 2003-06-26.
VII. PLAN OF WORK
· 2003-07-01(JHC): Send edited 61131-8 document and recommended disposition of comments to SC65B Secretariat and C.O. with a request that the document as edited be now published as a Technical Report per the decision of the P-members of SC65B as reported in Result of Voting on DTR - Document 65B/478/DTR as of the closing date of 2003-04-04. STATUS: DONE 2003-06-24.
· ACTION ITEM (JHC): Notify B.KRETSCHMANN that SC65B/WG7/TF3 will not need to meet in Madrid in September. STATUS: DONE 2003-06-26.
· Next pending business: IEC 61131-3, 3rd Edition due 2007
