2. Admission conditions

a)The application form should be completed and signed by the parents or legal guardians and to be returned to the school within the prescribed period.

b)The admission of a child shall be done at Atlas administration office after registering the child.

c)The child’s age reguired for nursery school or day care should be between 2½ to 6 years.

d)In order to be able to group the nursery pupils according to levels and ages, an aptitude test is given to a child registered to join our school.For primary level, before a pupil is registered has to pass the qualifying test which will be set by the school.

e)The process of registration for nursery and primary pupils shall be done by parents or guardians who will be required to produce/show birth certificate or clinic card of their children (6½-7years for std 1)

f)Application fee is Tsh. 20,000.00for nursery school while for primary schoolisTsh. 20,000.00and the interviewing fee is TZS 20,000.00 (all fees are non-refundable).

g)School fees and other requirement charges should be paid on a three month (semester) or a six month (term) basis. Thus the final payment will have to be settled within the first threeweeks of each semester under any selected payment plan.

h)First aid box is available but expenses on serious and urgent matters including transport costs will be refunded by the parents / guardians.

i)The school offices are open the whole week except on Sunday and public holidays.

j)Attach a child’s photo on the first filled page of the application form and other two passport size pictures.

k)Parents in need of transport services will have to fill an agreement form. That is a special agreement form between the parent / guardian and the school.

l)The parents will buy their children class text books as will be directed by the school.

m)Detach the first three pages and keep them. The filled pages should be brought back to the office.

Atlas Pre & Primary school – Ubungo Campusis an English Medium School with Reg. No. DS. 02/7/E.A.110 D.S. 02/7/110 is located Ubungo Kisiwani, along Mandela Road, Plot No. 1001, Block “F“ Kinondoni Municipality, between Riverside and UDSM Mabibo Hostel Bus stands.

Atlas Pre & Primary school – Madale Campus is an English Medium School with Reg. No. DS. 02/7/E.A.125 D.S. 02/7/125is located Madale-Kisauke Area, Bushangaro Avenue, Plot No. 2-3 Block J, Joshua (Mivumoni) road between St. Mary Immaculate sub Parish Roman Catholic Church & Korean Mission Centre (Presbyterian church).

1.3.School Schedule & Curriculum

a)Academic year consists of two terms:

(i)January up to June

• Mid-term break (1 week) in March/April
• One month long Holiday in June

(ii)July up to December

• Mid-term break (1 week) in September
• One month long Holiday in December.

b)Daily Time Table:

(i)08:20am to 12:50pm + remedial classes up to 4:00pm (Nursery pupils, Standard I & II).

(ii)08:20am to 04:00pm Standard III up to VII.

(iii)Services for day care are from morning to evening (i.e. the pupils do arrive before 08:00am and are collected between 5pm to 6:00pm).

Curriculum: The syllabus used is based on the Tanzania School education curriculum.

(a)Every pupil shall payTshs. 20,000.00 as maintenance contributionfor school and furniture (Payable in January).

(b)Special exercise books for nursery & primary pupils are obtained / bought at school for TZS800 @ (100 pages) or TZS 1,200 @ (200 pages), TZS 200 @ exercise book cover. Extra exercise books for evening programmes & homework (to be described at the office).

(c)All boarders shall pay Tshs. 6,000 per semester as a Church/Mosque offering/thanks giving

(d)Every pupil should come daily with his/her school bag.

(e)StationeriesTshs. 30,000/= per year; this include only pencils, rubber, flat files, coloured pencils, sharpeners, photocopiers’ & printers’ Ink, school office equipment maintenance,chalk boards, schemes, work plans, letters to parents, reports and other general office stationeries, (Payable in January & July each TZS 15,000). Please note that this contribution excludes exercise books, mathematical sets and text books.

(f)Black shoes but not sandals are worn with the school uniform on Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

(g)Sports shoes but not sandals are worn with sports wear on Tuesday & Thursday.

(h)School pupil’s uniform, body, teeth, hair etc should always be clean and smart.

Note: – Day care payments cover mid morning snack (nutritious porridge/lishe), school fee, lunch, extra evening remedial classes, safe drinking water, afternoon siesta, evening juice and other necessary care.

(i)A child is not allowed to come to school with soda, juice, food or whatever individual food substance.

(j)Grade IV & VII examination fee (per year) Tshs. 55,000 (this includes 3 mock examinations (regional wise), National examination, invigilators’ allowances, seminars for academic committee & head teachers’ sitting allowances, examination marking team etc. NGOPSO examinations fee (per year) Tshs. 20,000 for grade VI. Extra curriculum contributions for grade I, II, III & V is TZS 10,000 gradeIV & VI is TZS 20,000per semester and for grade VII isTZS 35,000per semester. Grade II exams (KKK) TZS 5,000.

(k)The pupils should arrive at school at 7:30a.m.
