Job Summary:
The Marie Curie Cancer Care (MCCC) is highly successful at providing care to people with terminal illnesses. Care is provided within their own homes as well as within our 9 hospices. MCCC has undergone some modernisation in recent years however these changes have been managed incrementally and it is now time to step back and define a clear strategic picture of where we want to be in the medium to long term and critically, what is required to support the MCCC Strategic Plan 2014-2017.

This role will be engaged in a varied programme of projects including, but not restricted to, working in support of the Marie Curie Nursing Service Lean Project. Outcomes needs to be of a high standard and delivered to agreed timescales and quality. Experience in project management and evidence of an ability to deliver will be a key requirement for this role.
As part of the Programmes Team this role will work collaboratively in support of larger projects as well as taking the lead on a defined workload. Flexibility will be a key requirement along with an ability to work across a programme of related and unrelated workstreams.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Project management
Responsible for end to end project management activities required within designated projects.
· Develop and maintain suite of project control documents
· Robust requirement specification and implementation
· Set and deliver key milestones, output and outcome criteria
· Identify, manage and mitigate project risks and issues and escalate at necessary
· Direct, support and facilitate project team
· Liaison, co-ordination and control of external suppliers
2. Stakeholder engagement
Effectively engage appropriate internal and external stakeholders throughout projects to ensure robust specification of needs and successful implementation.
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, establishing and maintaining effective networks of colleagues to ensure ongoing commitment to and involvement in a project.
3. Communication and Engagement
Develop and deliver robust communication plan for designated work to ensure effective communication both with staff directly affected and across the wider organisation, accessing existing channels as appropriate (ppst!, Marie Curie People, Caring Services newsletter, etc).
Be able to recognise and engage with key stakeholders in a way that promotes change management and facilitates the move from project into operational delivery
4. Budget management
Manage project within agreed budget, using appropriate financial monitoring of expenditure and timely payment of project invoices.
4. Reporting
Agree and deliver regular progress reports to Project Board/Caring Services Programme Board and others as required.
