Bellwood-Antis School District PTO Meeting Minutes
October 9, 2014 6:30 pm LGI – Myers Elem

· Welcome by Dawn McCartney
· Participants at the October meeting reviewed the contact list and made changes/edits
· Welcome and opening remarks by Dawn McCartney
· Review of previous minutes by participants - Motion to approve minutes by:
o 1st Approval – Tami Clark
o 2nd Approval - Jendy Maines
· REMINDER - SPREAD THE WORD! Join the Bellwood antis PTO Facebook Page as there will be updates provided – Dawn McCartney overseeing this aspect of communication for the PTO
· Review of the current balance for PTO account - $26,551.33 - this is an ES/MS combined account
Old Business
· Way Fruit Farm – went well
· Ft Roberdeau – went well
· Picture day – some issues with timing of student pick up/drop off; student behavior – Dawn will discuss with Mrs. Harpster
· MS pictures – went well
New Business
· Halloween Party – cupcakes to be ordered; cups delivered for the use of water from the classroom - Elena Carraciolo will order cupcakes; parents need to be at the school around 1/1:15 pm to help the students get into costumes
· October reward day - Shaver's Creek
· ES/MS Candle fundraiser in full swing
· Dawn developed a volunteer sign-up sheet for upcoming PTO events and reviewed
· Board game request for MS - request $250 for board games for activity period - the PTO suggested that we send a message requesting slightly used board games, puzzles from families for the middle school students aged 10 - 12 years old. After that, we will discuss the mini-grant for additional games. Dawn will get a box for the games to be donated; a school messenger will be sent out
· Career Day Snack set up by 0745 - it takes approximately 15 minutes -for 6 peoples (juice, fruit). Julie Berliner to get food etc
· Stockings for the Troops:
o Melissa Gormont is the chair. She provided an overview of the items requested; volunteer need; kick off date and more
o Volunteers are encouraged to contact her regarding next steps
o Amber Himes is working on assembling service members and Santa
· MS Bookfair – Melissa Gormont is the chair
· Playground swing - savings account - $10,353.77 - for special needs child
· Haunted Hall - 5th & 6th grade bc no longer have Halloween Parties
o Nov 1st
o $3 admission
o $1 for glow sticks
o - Jungle - gorilla suit; live snacks
o - Pirates of the Caribbean
o - Vines - newspaper twisted and spray painted (bats and ghosts)
o - Faces and hands coming out of walls (wall of souls)
o -Treasure chest - beating heart
o -Coffin with Limbs and snacks

o -Johnny Depp poster as Jack Sparrow
o -Potentially Bats or glow sticks in toilet paper rolls

o Large Cardboard to assemble a ship - Wolf's Furniture, Lowe's - 2 refrigerator boxs
o Cindy Danish -- projector that does ghosts
o Plenty of chaperons
o Times to possibly get into the school to decorate
o Wednesday - 2 pm - student volunteers 7th/8th grade per Mr. Wagner
o Thursday - all day; Bellwood Halloween
o Friday - 4 pm
o Saturday - Haunted Hall is 6 pm - 9 pm; DJ coming by 5 pm
o get ice from the football room
o possibly use the wrestling room to make the concession stand

· $200 for Christmas Party Craft for ES -
o Tami Clark – suggested the following craft - make Christmas Trees out of cupcake wrappers; holiday stickers; stars - $162.29
· Sunshine Committee - Mr Wagner got his EdD – card sent
